Underwhelming first half 1.4.10 to 7.4.46, apparently the lowest half time score this year in the VFL.
To me only Gardi and Tommy Walsh showing signs of wanting a senior game.
Stacks of basic skill errors and getting pinged with the ball constantly. Although Bullants look a fair cut above Sandy in pressure and pace.

Gardiner... 4 possesions
Simpkin doing OK
Umpiring a shambles......
A very light on sandringham side....with 6 or more players who have generally been sandy seconds players
Unfortunately
Blake, bakes, gards are a bit passed it
Eddy is a tryer...with average ability, how he made two gf side is astounding
Cahill, stanley do not work hard enough
Heyne, smith having a crack.....pretty ordinary though
Of all of them
Walsh would be the only player with the tools to make the grade....perhaps winmar

Gardiner spent lot time in rooms and on bench getting work done on his legs. Also struggling and looks rusty. Would need to spend 2-3 weeks in VFL before being considered.
Blake sitting on bench without boots on , hasnt exactly moved freely.
Heyne turning it over with every possession. Terrible decision making aswell.
Walsh done 1 good thing and really been unseen for rest game.
Eddy still tries his arse off every game.
Simpkin solid down back.
Havent seen Stanley for while? Possible injury??

Stanley hurt hammy
Gardy "just sore" both done for day I think.
Blake reports of injury.
Terrible skills moving forward
Walsh our only goal (and a nice one)
Always makes a contest but hard day for him with the poor movement forward
Heyne and smith getting a bit.
I just like the look of Johnson. Not a key possie but moves well, bit of dash and a bog kick

Blake clearly looked injured from the start, really no point in him playing...
Walsh looks good, presents well, agressive, strong, tries hard, good hands... Will be a good presence in the senior team sooner than later... The only real standout in a very poor side...
Stanley is the most overrated player on our list by a long, long way...
Can't expect much of Gardi... Hopefully he pulls up ok tomorow...
Winmar looks neat, uses it well... Stays on the ground alot after tackles... Weak body... Needs to get more see you next tuesday in him...
Smith struggles...
Cahill actually looks like a footballer IMO... Flies well and at the right times, great size... Just doesn't get much of it, if any... But may be worth persisting with... Depends on what he's got between the ears, but he's got obvious talent...

Gardiner rucked pretty well to me, even got Sandy some clearances, probably no use for that in the seniors.BigMart wrote:Gardiner... 4 possesions

Simpkin doing pretty well, looks OK I reckon.
I want to like Cahill, just doesn't do anything much.
Winmar looks to be taking on the game a bit more, he is making solid progress.
Not much else for mine.

couple of thoughts
As mentioned the midfield is being smashed. Problem is that all the proper mids are either very very young and thin or either injured or in the seniors. Lots of flankers and journeymen (baker).
Baker and blake playing out their contracts at sandy. Will retire by the look of it along with perhaps gards.
Stanleys hammys is a worry and his lack of not only conditioning but work rate.
Need a clean out in this part of the list. 6-7 players who are playing for sandy will not be on the list next year.
Positives? Walsh shows he has the flexibility needed to go to the next level.
Winmar has the ability to go to the next level but still has the bod of a flanker. Needs to work hard over the off season but will make it.
Archer working his butt off and thats about it. Forwards not getting a chance.
