Ladder Predictor
Just completed a ladder predictor for schnitz'n'gigs
Had us finishing 7th, only losing to Collingwood, Carlton and Sydney.
This gave us an elimination clash against Sydney in Sydney.
Presuming we make it that far (wishful thinking), should we win, we would come up against Hawthorn and would put us in the Collingwood " Side " of the draw.
Thoughts??

Re: Ladder Predictor
Sydney would be tough. no offence, but ladder predictors are a waste of time, especially with so many rounds to go.SunburySaint wrote:Just completed a ladder predictor for schnitz'n'gigs

I just hope Snarlton go out in straight sets and the filth lose the GF.

No offence taken! I generally think they are aswell but needed to amuse myself and thought my findings were interesting.SaintPav wrote:Sydney would be tough. no offence, but ladder predictors are a waste of time, especially with so many rounds to go.SunburySaint wrote:Just completed a ladder predictor for schnitz'n'gigs

Wow...I was only hoping for 8th, but I'll take 7th !
It means we leapfrog 5 teams, but the signs from the players have been OK.
WCE game at Etihad in 2 weeks will be a real test as Eagles will be busting to
get into a Top 4 spot.
And call me insane, but I consider Collingwood at Etihad in Round 21 to be very
winnable. That would be the first time we meet them there since the Riewoldt hammy match, when we held the Pies goalless in the 2nd half.

The west coast game will be interesting. No travel advantage for us as we will be coming off a trip to Adelaidephiltee wrote:Wow...I was only hoping for 8th, but I'll take 7th !

Yeah I had the teams between 6th and 13th dropping games like we all have been but had us comfortably 7th.hungry for a premiership wrote:I did a ladder predictor too, had us winning all games except coll., syd, and carlton too, but I had us finishing 9th. You just never know...
Ended up Fremantle finishing 8th with a win in last round knocking out the bummers who have the Bye.....
This bye thing may have a different affect come round 24.

There's a big diffrence between the climate and the weather.Dr Spaceman wrote:Bit like climate change really.
Scientists can predict the weather in 50 years time but have trouble getting tomorrow's forecast right.
We're trying to predict the ladder at the end of the season and really have little hope of picking the 8 winners this week.
Still, a bit of fun I suppose.

Well according to my prediction our percentage was 100.6%hungry for a premiership wrote:An important factor will be percentage. We need to dish out some beltings and get it well over the 100% mark.
That was also with losing to Sydney in H&A.
Had we beat them we finish above with a percentage of 103% to their 102.8% with the same points......
It's all fun and games, like the weather no one knows until the day is here!

Yeah we would, but don't think it would be much of an advantage considering we would be playing at the G.SaintPav wrote:so do we play sydney here in that case?SunburySaint wrote:Well according to my prediction our percentage was 100.6%hungry for a premiership wrote:An important factor will be percentage. Collingwood will be coming off the back of a 6-day break and interstate travel versus the Saints' 7 days and no interstate.

Percentage is over rated. An extra goal against Geelong, Carlton or Richmond would have been more value than pumping teams in the five games we won.hungry for a premiership wrote:An important factor will be percentage. We need to dish out some beltings and get it well over the 100% mark.

Anywhere between 6th and 8th is a real possibility. If we beat the teams we should beat, and have been beating so far this year, we should definitely play finals. From there, who knows.
Our season to date has been tough, but we have had one of the toughest draws going around. So far we have lost to:
Geelong (twice) currently 1st
Collingwood, 2nd
Carlton, 3rd
Hawthorn, 4th
Essendon, 8th
Adelaide, 14th
So apart from Essendon who were flying at the time, and Adelaide in Adelaide (who we should have beaten), we have only lost to top 4 teams.
We are currently in 12th and the 6 teams immediately above us have all played an extra game. Our draw in the second half is far easier than our first half and every game is winnable.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get a bit of a run on and finish as high as sixth.
