North obviously thought he was going to be good

several times I noted they had 2/3 on him to stop him getting the ball at centre bounces.

Whilst he is fantastic at getting the clearances, he unfortunately tends to butcher the ball both by hand and foot. A number of times tonight he was nowhere near hitting a teaget and turned it over too many times.

Needs to improve this part of his game.

Let him play at least 50 games before you start bagging him on skills under pressure. Most of his turn overs occurred when he was put under pressure by north players who were ferocious tonight. They also targeted Steven and Armo for some bumps and knocks when ever they took possession. Steven is a good user of the ball for a guy with so few games.

Loved his shutdown work on Swallow. He will have learnt a lot from that assignment. Nullifying Swallow was always going to be a key.

Would have thought he's solid evidence to rebut the bleatings of the 'play the kids regardless' brigade.

It's a product of natural ability and hard work. Plus he's just made for that role. Needs to get on top of his kicking now, though, while he's young enough to improve it. It's the only thing that will stop him being elite
