odd stat Query- Reports/suspensions

Post: # 1096612Post saintbrat »

a small comment in another thread ( which I'd prefer not to bump)

But which current Saints players have
a) never been reported
B) never been suspended

and then
D) before Baker who has the next most reports/suspensions.

the comment was on Milney having missed a few games due to suspension But I can never remember him being suspended....

Has Riewoldt or Dal Santo ever been suspended? Can never remember them doing anything to warrant it.

Also McEvoy, Steven...

Found this re Milne suspension.

Milne, Ling suspended
Posted Tue Apr 29, 2003 8:27pm AEST
Updated Tue Apr 29, 2003 8:40pm AEST
The AFL tribunal has suspended both St Kilda's Stephen Milne and Geelong's Cameron Ling for striking.

Milne was suspended for two weeks after being found guilty of striking Geelong's Matthew Scarlett, while Ling received a one-week ban for striking Saint Nick Riewoldt.

That's the last and only time he was suspended?

Now lives in Geelong...

Riewoldt and Dal Santo have both been reported for engaging in a melee / wrestling. However they've only been fined, not suspended.

I reckon all our players that have been around for 5+ years would probably have some kinda small charge like that then.....

I'm pretty sure Lenny was suspended for striking a few years back?

He got weeks for a forearm strike against the Lions in 2004...Kosi also got weeks for tripping in the same game.

allthestats.com

Statistics from each round contain who was suspended, what for and for how long.

That was the only site I could find that had suspension info from seasons gone by.

Yes but Mad Dog only played about 68 games. At that rate Bakes would have to be outed for aabout 66 games. And there was incomplete TV coverage at Bob's games.

I was trying to make the point that both Big Carl adn Mad Dog were considered a tad 'unsportsmanlike' in their day adn yet Baker who nobody actually thinks of as a 'puncher' (in the same vein as Big Carl, Mad Dog etc) has surpassed them for games suspended.
Just highlights that he cannot get away with virtually anything, whether it's real or imaginary!

I refect back to a conversation I had with somebody at the Club who told me that the AFL had told us Baker was going to be scrutinized Matt Rendell had told the person I was speaking with).
This was after the 'Judd incident' when they decided his tactics were not what they wanted to see out there.
Cannot help but think much of what has transpired since seems to fit that scenario.
