Raph played out the game. Didn't do enough to get picked on form IMO.terry smith rules wrote:SaintSimmo wrote:right you never wish injuries on anybody especially a saint so p**s off idiotJunction Oval wrote:

Saints kicking against breeze in first qtr.
Raph Clarke just injured at start of 2nd qtr.- off ground.
Jason Blake - seems like damage to his injured knee in first qtr. Has gone into rooms - doesn't look good !

I was at the game, i think Raph's game was good again, but can not be picked next week because he played this week.
I thought Tom Simpkin played well also. Mini Mac done ok but didn't do enough for a call up.
I was very happy with Geary's 1st game back after a broken leg, great goal in the 2nd quarter.
Joe Blake's knee looked no good when he came off in the 1st quarter.
All the other Saints listed players done ok, but there was no major other standouts

Raph had a good second half. Unfortunately for Raph it seems he is a cut above VFL and a cut brlow AFL
Sipposs moved nicely, footskills in the wind excellent. Ledger and Crocker also did bits and looked Ok.
Nicholas Winmar in and out of the game, looked very pacey today.
Tommy Lynch - down back most of the game got a bit lost against a taller opponent in Brett Eddy (Pies Eddy) before eddy was carried off with what looked like a serious knee injury.
Alastair Smith seemed to get into the game as it went on. had an excellent final quarter.
Both Archer and Tommy Walsh had tough days. Not a good day for taller players.

Lance or James??

Thanks joffa, and all the other forumites that have taken the time to inform those of us unable to get to the game.joffaboy wrote:Raph had a good second half. Unfortunately for Raph it seems he is a cut above VFL and a cut brlow AFL

The Saints, I mean Sandy, were pretty good today.
Again lamentable goal kicking (though it was a very tricky wind) meant it was 10 or 12 mins into the last quarter with the wind before we finally got in front.
Saw anti-Raph posts.
But I thought Raph was pretty good.

Yep..that'll do me as a match report..except to add that it was very cold with a strong swirling wind blowing to the Saunter end. Reckon it was snowing somewhere near TBBO. Bar one shower the rain stayed away thoughjoffaboy wrote:Raph had a good second half. Unfortunately for Raph it seems he is a cut above VFL and a cut brlow AFL

Without Gardy to contend with Jolly did pretty much as he pleased in the ruck. Crocker is very very quick with a lovely left foot. Would have to run around in the shower to get wet tho. Simpkin also needs another preseason. Surprised how light he is up close
Raph was very good when it counted, laid some strong tackles in the last qtr to repel Coll attacks..but as JB said sadly seems stuck between VFL/AFL
THE BUBBLE HAS BURST

Speaking of Raph.
Interesting decision in the last qtr.
A Collingwood player marked on the beachside back pocket.
He then played on and Raph who was running in from behind got a hand on the ball to dislodge it.
Ump blew whistle and paid a 50m penalty with a bemused Raph asking why.
