Mark Maclure on AFL 360
Moderators: Saintsational Administrators, Saintsational Moderators
He kept tipping Saints would come good, and is probably dirty that they didn't...
Nothing about what he says bothers me, I am though, curious what makes him think Ross has lost the players?
The players appear to like Ross, many of them have said as much.
If he is saying the staff don't like him, that is different, and the lines shouldn't be blurred.

Re: Mark Maclure on AFL 360
That show could do without Maclure and King. I could take 2 hours of Gerard Whateley, and at least Robbo is well-researched, doesn't talk rubbish, and tells it as he sees it. He's pretty old-school Robbo.MCG-Unit wrote:Didn't watch it tonight, I saw AFL 360 once, and that was enoughDr Spaceman wrote:Just saw AFL 360 and couldn't believe the garbage coming out of the mouth of Mark Maclure.........

Maclure is a major try-hard - and on the rare times I've heard him on radio, he's a very negative 'special comments man' (as many of them are)
Whateley is Australia's pre-eminent sports broadcaster.

That's exactly the impression I had from the only time I watched it - Maclure and King added zero - other than trying to be controversial and some mock humour.dcstkfc wrote:That show could do without Maclure and King. The way it's promoted as 'Whateley the voice of reason...' (in between 2 try-hards)
Yep could easily listen to Whateley and Robinson for the hour without the other 2.

Criticising the Saints and in particular Ross Lyon.
Fair enough, disagree with the decision to play the older guys against Geelong
Fair enough, criticise the game plan and blame it for the poor crowd
BUT
Comments to the effect that:
Ross doesn't want to be there
Ross doesn't want to rebuild the list
Everyone at the club from the Board down is scared of Ross and he's running the whole show
Ross has lost the players
Biggest load of crap I've heard in many a day
also said that he would put the whole list on the trade table and start afresh......
...he was our chairman of selectors or some such crap wasn't he...what happened...did the prick get fired....he must have some reason for hating us...apart from the fact tat we beat his f****** cheating scumbaggers 10 or 11 times in a row......turd........
king put him in his place though......

Granted, it was after he'd left the club. But he said he's pretty much impossible to work with.

Loved the way the Jpod put him in his place on the radio the other day. Don't mind the old Jpod.stinger wrote:Dr Spaceman wrote:Just saw AFL 360 and couldn't believe the garbage coming out of the mouth of Mark Maclure.

King has swung from support to query most of the year
I remember early on he seemed against saints But during NAB he firmly believed we could go again this year
and listening on radio on the weekend he was full of support for Bakes and milney when they were being ignored for frees.
so I;m not as angst him as I once was-

Hes a cabbage, a poor analyst and another example of "just cause you played at the highest level...doesnt mean you understand the game - good player dont mean good coach/analyst".

AFL 360 is possibly the worst football program on TV - the fact they had to bring in MM and King to give it some legs is simply laughable!
The amount of awkward silences on this show leaves me in hysterics... there is no rapport between these guys... I genuinely feel sorry for Gerard who otherwise seems like a nice bloke

I still can't believe the ball bounced over Jamie Shanahan's head into Darren Jarman's lap 4 times in one half of footy... kills me...

Re: Mark Maclure on AFL 360
Is this the same man that believed that several of our players should have been suspended for 'kimmygate' in the first episode of AFL 360 this year because of their 'supposed' violation of the AFL code of conduct against women? Haven't watched another episode this year after that and I certainly won't be watching this one on replay. He is a fool. End of story. Most of the footy media is. Not many whom I listen to that I respect so I tend to not watch a lot of the footy shows this year.Dr Spaceman wrote:Just saw AFL 360 and couldn't believe the garbage coming out of the mouth of Mark Maclure.

Maclure was chairman under Thomas for one and a bit years. Waldron was the team manager/chairman under Watson. And Blight had Grant Thomas help him out!!! Helped him right out.....

I went to Moorabbin for lunch one Thursday afternoon and sat on the table next to Watson's four man team selection meeting taking place in the restaurant.SENsaintsational wrote:Waldron was the team manager/chairman under Watson.
I have never seen so many Garlic Prawns consumed in my life. Plate after plate delivered to the table. And most of the conversation was about the prawns on the table rather than the prawns on the list.
I realised that day why Justin Plapp played one out in the forward 50 and why the football club was broke.
