Right now - How good/bad are we really ?

Post: # 1093382Post mordi »

Watching the replay - 10 minutes to go 18 points down. ( milney misses which puts us 12 points down).

I acknowledge all the issues about our long term position - but right at the moment we were not that far off the the top team, who are supposedly unbeatable.

Given the discussion that suggests half our team are hacks , I think it wasnt a bad effort.

Its not all doom and gloom - just a team in transition.

One wonders how Saintsational would have handled the early 1980's - David Winbanks et al.....

No doubt during the dark years at the start of the last century there would have been carrier pigeons colliding mid flight on a regular basis

It's hard to tell... contrary to popular belief (at least on this forum) skill levels are not a static value. They have been better. They are way down at the moment.

We are probably better off missing out on September so that the club can get a decent pre-season in.

The game plan hasn't been changed so much as tweaked... Riewoldt and Lyon claim that it is sound and stacks up against the competition but it is hard to tell whether it is the plan or the execution at fault when things don't work.

To be down in clearances and tackles in close games makes you think they're not far off... then to dominate in those stats and be slaughtered on the scoreboard like last Saturday has gotta make you wonder.

How good/bad are we really? NFI.

Ask me again in a couple of months.
