yup not bad seeing as roo cost us the game

apparently
he should be striped on the captaincy and have his pay packet quartered
then next year he should be thrown up for trade to gws for pick 45

I think he should be shot.

Then eaten.

Agreed, effort 100%!! Deserved much better, but the skills...the skills..the skills.

The skills are terrible.

Thats why it is called football, not effortball. Our disposal skills are amongst the lowest in the competition.

You shouldn't expect a great deal with a spud forward line....

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.

Ralphy that is an understatement - it seemed such a wasted effort to outtackle them, beat them in contested possession (did we ?) and then continually give it back to them and have them burn us.

The boys tried their guts out, just let themselves down with skills...something we really need to work on...we played an unbeaten team, with injuries but nonetheless, a team choc full of confidence and simply a better team at the moment than us. Its not like the loss to the Crows which was far more disappointing. The boys had a red hot go.

I taped the game on One.

Perhaps I got it wrong and shouldve taped the Comedy Channel instead.

FFS 6 on the full plus numb nuts runner.

Bunch of cabbages!

They should always try their guts out and give it their all.

That's the baseline.

And your point is? I made the comment because people are questioning the boys will to win. You can't expect to win them all and all we should be asking for is that they do their best. Which they did.

No faulting our effort, but we are way down in confidence ... and, yes, skills.

Geelong were that much more direct than us.

Instead of pissing around with little handballs and short kicks they back their teammates to win the ball and move it quickly and directly.

IMO it's a confidence thing with us and we may or may not get it back this year. Too many guys paralysed with fear about possibly taking a chance and possibly making a mistake.

Yeah fair call, we're not as good as we have been in recent years and can not expect to win every game. Only losses in the past 5 weeks have been against a team unbeaten and another with only one loss to their name after 12 rounds. Fair go.

The way this forum's going off you would think we just lost the unlosable game.

That's not the way the experts and gambling agencies viewed the situation pre game.

Unfortunately some poor skills errors and a few disappointing performances and suddenly some people are refusing to acknowledge what was a reasonable performance against an unbeaten, super confident team at the very top of their game.

I thought we were pretty good a touch unlucky…
Tried our guts out, had a few rough calls and the runner incident,
They just had a bit more class when finishing, our skills are looking ordinary,
I thought we would go down by about 6 goals so 4.5 is ok in my book…
Bartel went down very early, but really we had around the same output from Montagna,
Peake, Jones, Dawson, Dempster and Kosi were very good… (+ fisher & dal as usual)
Gamble not up to it…
Gram needs more time in the 2's…
Why don't they move Riewoldt around earlier?
Why did they try Raph as the sub again?
We now have to have a good look at Walsh in the 1's,
Any risk of having Armitage at a few centre bounces?

That side won't be better next year, we need more games into younger guys at risk of losing, including Ledger for a whole game, [/img]

Yeah, I didn't think we were too bad, all in all.

We got out of the gate pretty well.

Just a lot of key players were no where at their best.

I was happy with the effort but I think the overall effort of the team looked better due to the massive effort of players like Stevens, Jones, McEvoy, Peake, Fisher. Probably some others too.

We did ok. We are a 6-10 side now. And next year around the same. The window is shut. It is how we try to approach coming back that will be interesting.

Agreed pretty much.

Effort great. Skills s***.

That's all there is to it.

A skilful side showing that effort would be unbeatable.
