Who would appeal to GWS from our list?

Post: # 1090696Post borderbarry »

If we decide to take part in trading for the 4 GWS 17 yr olds, or even a high draft pick from GWS, apart from our untouchables, which of our players would have appeal for GWS?

I would list our untouchables as :-
B.J.
Roo
Lenny
Sam Fisher
Ben McEvoy

Add who you consider untouchable.

Noone excpet the players we really must retain would commend even a mid-level GWS draft pick. For a high pick one of the untouchables would have to go

Anyone who thinks our list has the same depth of value as Collingwood or Geelong is kididng themselves Im afraid.

That's a bit harsh. I'd say Milney is definitely a big part of our PRESENT and most certainly a part of our future.

would definitely agree - didn't mean those players were past it - meant that we owe them the same loyalty and committment that they've shown us.
my bad.

Gilbert & Goddard are the only ones i think they would even really look at.
Both are younger then most on our list.

I think they'd be more tempted to recruiting KPP, build a spine first, and then play kids.

We don't have many KPP that are young enough and good enough for them to look at.

The only realistic situation that would see us attain a pick high enough of obtaining a future champion would be for one of the "untouchables" to go.

So, which untouchable is it, if any? Maybe GWS comes along and makes a massive offer for one, and then it will really be up to the player in question, won't it? If he decides to stay. Great. If he goes and we get a future champion in compensation... Well, that's not such a bad thing either.

I think a change from St.Kilda may benefit Sam Gilbert. The pre-season business seems to have affected his play and maybe he needs a change.

No one's absolutely untouchable. If they offered 6 first-round picks for Roo, I reckon we'd take it.

Gilbert may certainly be a target.

If we can snag a first rounder for him, take it for sure.

That seems far fetched.

"The highlights include giving Team GWS nine first round picks in 2011, the top eight rookie picks next year, zoned access to players from NSW, ACT and the Northern Territory, access to 16 uncontracted players and the right to have an expanded list and increased salary cap.

The club will have picks 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft."

hmm thought they might have given them picks 1,3,5

id like to see armo and stanley stay

Who has Pick No.1?
The wooden spooner from this year?
GWS?
Gold Coast Suns?
On last year it should be GWS.
