Oh yeah, P66 is the author!! My bad!Spinner wrote:True Blue Sainter wrote:There is a thread that says "Team for Geelong" just halfway down the page...
But I agree. Think Walsh will be the one coming in for Simpkin. And I've heard some mixed mail on Monty, but one source is quite adamant he'll play.
This is the weekly thread. Get with it!
The Saints are coming!

What about some of the other countless threads on the main boardTrue Blue Sainter wrote:There is a thread that says "Team for Geelong" just halfway down the page...

Yes maybe Walsh or Johnson in for Simpkin - if Walsh, then he will likely have to play forward and have some time in the ruck
They should play Ledger the whole match, or send him back to Sandringham

Geelong's main weapon is its will to win, but they still have a few questions in some positions. I think we could put a bit of pressure on by playing Roo at FF rather than CHF, and bring a strong body like Walsh into the forward line. I would lay a tag on Bartell, who is one of their most effective players under pressure. I would bring McQualter back in, just for the experience factor, and play him in the middle, not as a tagger or a defensive forward. I think Zac will hold Pods to a couple of goals. The ruck is a problem against Ottens, but McEvoy is improving all the time and will make a contest.
In:Walsh, McQualter
Out: Simpkin, Ledger

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Agreed. Walsh was very close last week and only just missed the team. Would be very surprised if he didn't make it this week after another excellent performance in the VFL.plugger66 wrote:Just for WW.

Possibly so, but history says Ross does not make changes lightly, especially after a win. I'd also like to see Walsh have a run, but feel he may have to wait till after the break.saintspremiers wrote:Stephen Theodore wrote:No change
Boring!
Simpkin needs some Zebra time.
Lynch to replace him.
The club should announce Walsh in on Sunday morning for the following fortnight to allow half of Ireland to fly over here!

In: Walsh, Lynch, Siposs
Out: Gram, Simpkin, Gamble
Either Gram or Clarke miss for Lynch, & I'd make sure he plays at half back.
Also, I'd throw Farren Ray deep forward, has good pace and is superb overhead, surely he would give us more in the contest than Gamble does.
Although I don't think Simpkin has done a hell of a lot wrong, we can't have him and Walsh in the same side, and Walsh has earnt at least a call up, if not a decent run in the senior team.

I can't see us going in even smaller against Geelong. We're already a ruckman and tall forward down, dropping a tall defender means that the likes of Fisher and Gilbert can't be used anywhere else.SaintPav wrote:In: Joey

That said, I have no idea what changes will be made. My preference would be
Out: Simpkin - Not quite there at the moment
Gamble - Loses so many simple contests it's not funny
Gram - Doesn't have the skill to make up for his lack of physicality
In: Walsh - Mind the resting ruckman and backup Ben
Johnson - Make Scarlett accountable and bag a couple
Smith - Give some run through the midfield

Out: Simpkin, Gamble, Gram
IN: Lynch, Walsh, Crocker
If Joey is ok to play he will come for Gram instead of Crocker
