Interesting the tangents a question can go...
and the proviso's that should have been put
I envisioned questions that were based in past and fact but kept from supporters, in house or between two people
not ... what if or maybe
when will we win a premiership could be as close as when will the world end or how long do I have on this earth....
Ross' mantra of Controlling and worrying about what you can control and let others work on the stuff you can't is quite true..

Not sure if it's just an urban myth, but the story going around at the time was they bumped into each other in the carpark before the game and exchanged some unpleasantries.Mr Magic wrote:I believe it was something Greening said to him as he ran past him after taking his kick.Enrico_Misso wrote:What did John Greening say to Jimmy O'Dea in the carpark before that infamous game?

and : exactly what terms were offered or who wasn'tDon't mean to criticise fellow Saints fans in my first post, but seriously those two really smack of the dumped boyfriend. Sometimes the girl just won't answer and it comes across as needy and desperate (speaking very much from recent experience, here). The only way to truly get over it is to suck it up, accept it happened and forget that the ex (i.e. Ball) is shagging someone else now. Just try not to imagine that things are better with the new partner. Why did Luke Ball not get more game time in the 09 GF, seeing if he did we could of possibly won.
(If I read between the lines would it be fair to quote you as saying Ball is now shagging Sharrod Wellingham? )
That's a dangerous line to go down... begs the question, who was he shagging when he was with us?

I'd not heard that.Enrico_Misso wrote:Not sure if it's just an urban myth, but the story going around at the time was they bumped into each other in the carpark before the game and exchanged some unpleasantries.Mr Magic wrote:I believe it was something Greening said to him as he ran past him after taking his kick.Enrico_Misso wrote:What did John Greening say to Jimmy O'Dea in the carpark before that infamous game?
BUT I certainly heard the other scenario.

Well I might be flamed in my responsesaint tash wrote:Why did we move to Seaford......*ouch*'
Waiting to be flamed.
Most people will poo poo me but where they are will be prime land in 10-15 years - it's not about immediate return but future return.
Even though the land is located on the wrong side of Seaford ( not the beach side) it will sky rocket in value - Seaford is one of the only ( well I think only) bayside suburb ( yes people it's on the water) that is still able to be bought into. I have lived in Bayside suburbs my whole life and places like Mentone/Parkdale, Mordialloc and Highett (shudder) where not desirable 15 years ago and now you have to pay 800k plus to buy a house.
Forward thinking was the catalyst here!

A football club that needs to survive and when memberships go down they need other forms of income to rely on - it's not that shocking is it?clisaint wrote:You're taking the piss, right? And it's a business not just a "f****** football club" as you so eloquently put it.

From my understanding they do - I believe it's why they moved to the area - cheap land - the area they are on is massive the equity alone will help pump more money into the club which is never a bad thing.Saints43 wrote:Does St Kilda own the land the training facility is on?Seaford_Saint wrote:...where they are will be prime land in 10-15 years - it's not about immediate return but future return.

The only way to realise that theoretical rise in value is to sell.Seaford_Saint wrote:From my understanding they do - I believe it's why they moved to the area - cheap land - the area they are on is massive the equity alone will help pump more money into the club which is never a bad thing.Saints43 wrote:Does St Kilda own the land the training facility is on?Seaford_Saint wrote:...where they are will be prime land in 10-15 years - it's not about immediate return but future return.
So maybe in 20 years when prices rise we can flog Seaford and relocate to Hastings.
