We will beat the cats!

Post: # 1089850Post saintjake »

For some reason, we always play well against them,
and I just have that feeling, its turning, we are coming. Dont worry about that.
No Selwood is huge. their forward line is not great. Mcevoy has improved, Ottens had his one outstanding game for the year.

Would love to see us beat that mob!

Last year's September win was the first time we'd beaten the Cats in a Final.

We should have won in round one but that's over now.

The victory in the middle of last year was sweet!

Selwood went down early in round one and it didn't help us then.

In a one point dogfight maybe that was the difference!

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

In round 1, they did not have Chappy who I think is the game breaker. Also we had Lenny & Joey.

They were down on confidence & we were tipped to win.

This time its the other way around.

With no Joey & Lenny it will be a tough task. But then again thats when we need to stand up.

Lets hope for the best.

We're capable of it. I wouldn't be surprised. It'd turn our season around. We're lacking a bit of belief.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Saintsational predictions formula:

X [St Kilda] - Y [In-form team] = X>Y

X [St Kilda] - Y [Out-of-form team] = X>Y

X [St Kilda] - Y [Essendon] = Y>X

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

It will be about matchups and pressure.

Can't win the midfield battle with Ottens in such good form IMO.

It will be about applying pressure and hopefully causing a turnover. Cats still flick it around a bit, they may of improved the defensive nature, but are still prone to overusing it at times.

I think Ross will go in with the same plan for now, lots of negating types to take out their playmakers, and the one ruckman so our focus will be on lots of guys who can pressure.

Is there some doubt over Steve Johnson as well?

Lenny goaled about 30 seconds later anyway, so I don't think it would have changed anything.

As for Blake playing on though...

Our form is gradually getting better with the cats looking a little tired after last week, should be a close 1

Would it be a safe bet to say Jason Blake won't be selected to play in this game?

If so, we're a smokey :P

Sorry, JB.

The Cats have won something like 4 games by under 2 goals - they're not as great as their ladder position suggests. With the suspension of Selwood and after a hard-fought game last night, perhaps we've got them at the 'right' time.
