Team for Geelong.
It is obvious that our forward line still needs bolstering. Maybe one of Ssm Fisher of Brendon Goddard need to play forward for the entire game.
Will Lynch be better value than Simpkin?
And Tommy Walsh, did he do enough today to warrant a call-up?
Did Gamble do enough with one goal to be retained?

Out: Gilbert, Simpkin.
In: Walsh, Lynch
With Geelong only playing J-Pod and Vardy, Dawson and Gwilt should be more than capable of handling them.
Gilbert needs a Run in the ressies and Simpkin doesn't have a matchup.
Lynch provides good rebound out of the back half (hopefully) while Walsh plays Full Forward to assist Roo. Besides from information from Sandy he'ld certainly be a better 2nd ruck than Gwilt or Dawson.
This is all assuming Joey will not come up.

Eh? Won't he be rucking? Zac will take him and Vardy when forward, Gwilt beats the s*** out of J-Pod.BringBackMadDog wrote:What about Ottens?goddardisgod wrote:Out: Gilbert, Simpkin.

Saw footage of the Geelong players post match singing of the club song. They are back to their old ways in looking like arrogant turds and yawning whilst singing it.
Time for another team to upset their applecart and make them think twice about taking wins for granted.
I believe this could be us.

channel 10's hand was kind of forced.
will depend on comments made in any actioned investigation.

Will certainly get enough to not be playing next week.
However even with Joey our midfield is undermanned.
The Cats are howver a team that we match very well on....so I give us a good chance.

Out
Simpkin - did not do enough to get another chance against Geelong.
Clarke - somewhat unlucky. Was considering Gilbert, but I have nominated him to cover Scarlett.
In
Lynch - great Sandy game today. Replaces Simpkin.
Walsh - up forward & rucking after a good game at Sandy today. McEvoy needs better support than Dawson & Gwilt, who will be needed elsewhere.
Sub - Ledger, again.

You can't be serious about Dawson, one of their better players v WB, hardly lost a contestsaintbob wrote:OUT: GRAM, DAWSON

There's almost no chance Gram will be dropped IMO
- 22 poss, 7 cont, 4 clearances, 4 tackles, 16 'pressure acts' + a one handed mark when way out of position - in 78% game time

I'd be happy with those moves.Junction Oval wrote:Out

Tom Lynch has surely done enough and was really stiff not to have played against the Bulldogs on Friday night, after only missing one match. Bonus that he can play either end.

Need another tall.
Otherwise the mercy rule will be employed for the first time in AFL history when Matthew Scarlett gathers 100 disposals in a half of football.
Must bring in a forward marking option as the tall. Narrows it down to Walsh, Johnson, Stanley (who I believe is carrying something), Kosi or Archer.
IMO Walsh or Kosi must play. Will need the ruck support and extra option up forward. Otherwise we are stuffed.
After that IMO it's a roll of the dice ...

Agree. Getting out from full back and having a run around really seemed to agree with Zac.MCG-Unit wrote:You can't be serious about Dawson, one of their better players v WB, hardly lost a contestsaintbob wrote:OUT: GRAM, DAWSON

He was back to his old self, crunching packs, giving bumps and laying tackles, as he does when he's switched on. He won't be going anywhere, as he'll be needed for Vardy.

Pods is an aerialist, takes his marks very high. Zac should play on him, he won't get out-muscled and can spoil him.matrix wrote:out raph

If Walsh played he'd go to Ottens/Vardy. And it would be at Simpkin's expense, not Raph's.

Gwilt ran off Pods the only time Pods has played against us (he was suspended for last year's final and injured in Round 1) and Gwilt had his best ever game. A couple of caveats though. It was very wet and all tall-forwards on the night battled. We won 10 goals to 6 with Schneids, Steven and Milney sharing 9. Hence Pods was off the ground a lot as he was of no use to them.SainterK wrote:Gwilt has played well on Pods in the past...
Dempster would have to take Steven Johnson again, Bakes hmmm....Menzel?
Fisher would be a good matchup for Chappy, I'd like to see that.
