Bingo K, Scarlett is a very important player for them, sets up so much run and carry. Enright is another we seem content to just leave loose in the backline but honestly that man is one of the best at taking defensive marks to cause the turnover. Need to watch these two closely. Our ball movement was (I felt) a little better in the match this week, we showed consistency too with four solid quarters (three goals in every quarter).

Bubs is good. Six months old. You'll all be pleased to know that he has a St Kilda dummy to help settle him (going through teething) and he loves it. Will not take any other dummy. Tonight he fell asleep in the car and when we brought him in he was clutching his dummy in his hand, dead to the world.

:)

Come three or four years, there'll be another mad Sainter running around the house, kicking a pair of socks between doorways and talking about rooey (or whoever is the Rooey of that era)

How lucky are they?
1,2,3 and 5 point wins

Hardly luck when you win the close ones so regularly.

i think a little luck comes into winning the close ones. they had a little luck against us in round 1. i mean, if we were up to scratch we would have put the result beyond doubt at half time. geelong had the luck of having a lenient opponent that night and capitalised.

anyway, with a bit of luck, they'll be a little softened up next week after last night's hard fought win and we can make some luck happen from that.

We need to regain the knack of putting teams away when we have them on the ropes. Problem is, our low-scoring style tends to keep opponents within striking distance even when we have pummeled and dominated them.

No luck.

Good sides consistently win close games.

Poor sides like ours lose them.

Can't believe all the dreamers on here thinking we are a chance at the G where we play crap at against top quality opposition.

You are forgetting that there are still supporters that think we are a shot at the flag this year. Nothing wrong with that. It's what makes the place go round.

We match up well to the cats.

I think that may be part of our problem against the pies, the bombers and the blues.

We are about 10% off in skills and 10% off between the ears.

Recent history would suggest the 'dreamers' are actually pretty close to the mark. We match up well with Geelong.

We can win, the bulldogs were ordinary because we pressured them up until the end of the game. If we bring the effort we are a chance. We don't tend to coast as much in big games.

Although we do usually match up well against the Cats, If this weekends matches are anything to go by we are no chance.
Friday night was an awful game of scrappy footy, the skills of both sides looked were very ordinary. It really did look like 11th versus 14th.
Compare that with the Hawks Cats game, where the skills were unbelievable, where both sides had an in-form power forward, we'd have to really turn it on to get anywhere near the cats this week. Lets hope so…

Its got enough attention already. They will have to look at it as it appears to be "Very Similar" to the Baker/Farmer incident, with the only difference being that Guera got hit to the side/back of the head, suggesting that he didn't see it coming. We'll wait with interest !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Somebody on radio this morning likened the Cats/Hawks match to a Racing Group 1 event and the Saints/Dogs match to a Picnic Carnival (or something similar).

However, we match up well against the Cats and have an extra recovery day (if that makes a big difference). So, we go in hopeful, but not expecting a win. Next week will be a test of where we are really at.

We can dare to dream.

Some teams just match up well each year regardless of how each of them are traveling.

A valuable 4 points from a game we're expected to lose, the first team to knock off the ladder leaders and a bye is pretty good dream material :)

I assume the umpire next to the incident was unsighted? Or was a report taken?

Jeez, a perforated eardrum is pretty sickening stuff.

If Selwood gets off, Jeff Kennett will be howling like a dog on heat.

I just don't believe there would be no vision, Saturday night footy, one of the most anticipated games of the round. It was Selwood, doesn't he have a special camera all of his own?
