Mr Dempster
Believe it or not, this is not a Sean Dempster whipping boy post.
I'd just like to praise Sean on his fine efforts from last night. He seemed to play the percentages. I honestly can't recall him making a mistake. When in possession, his disposal was quite sound. A solid game. I'd have him amongst our top 5 players from last night
Well done, Seano! Or whatever your nickname is... What is his nickname, anyway? Does he even have one?

I agree he's been good this year. He's always been an AFL-standard defender. He'd be even better if he could somehow use his body strength against his opponents: with all Raph's faults, this is one thing he's much better at than Dempster, who has wonderful muscle definition, but apparently it's all for show.
I've been happy with Dempster's performances for over a year now. ed to get frustrated when he was selected to play up the ground in 2009. He's one of a number of players who have been a bit over-rated by our coach, which frustrates some. But he's ok.

He was worse than awful for a few games early in the season - lucky to stay in the 22. But repays RL's faith in him, I'm happy to admit!savatage wrote:He's been pretty good most of the year - some people watch football with both eyes & some people watch it with their thumbs stuck up their ass. Unfortunately a lot of Saints supporters fit into the latter category & bag blokes that generally do what's expected of them week in & week out.

I think he always has.Johnny Member wrote:I think Dempster's 'role' has been altered a bit.
I think he's one, like CJ, who now must defend and stop their man at all costs - but also use the ball themselves.
I always make the comparison that in 2010, he and Bakes played the same amount of games, the same role.
One had 6 inside 50, the other 18.
Sean has always looked to play on.
