You know though, our emphasis has been on midfield pressure and turnovers...think we've given up on winning the ruck battle with the resources we have.
Goddard I thought may play, Dempster I am surprised...we need him, and you can only assume both guys are well.
Or late change given Baker is in, and Sean out?

Who would ruck if Mac went down???
Anyway, bloody pleased for Ledge and Head.
Very brave call that these three have been picked ahead of Gamble, Mini and Raph. All credit to the selection panel for having some balls.

Where the Pies have had the edge of late is numbers at the ball, and midfield rotations.goddardisgod wrote:Big big call.
No 2nd Ruck. Or 2nd key forward.
So Lyon looks to be taking them on there.
The young Siposs is very importnat now though with the team picked.

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Let's be honest about it though, Ben doesn't give our mids to much first use of the ball...in fact not many of our options at the moment with Gardi out are going to.dcstkfc wrote:Who would ruck if Mac went down???

May as well go in with the plan to pressure and hassle.
They try to handball, the boys will love it, they try to bomb it long then our Fishers and Gilberts will gobble it up.
Something about Jones, Peakey, Joey, Steven running forward...giving the Collingwood defenders headaches....
Well it appeals

That's what I was thinking - will be especially interesting to see how he goes this week.saintsRrising wrote:The young Siposs is very importnat now though with the team picked.
I noticed Walsh has been "dropped" from the Emergencies list? Clarke, McQualter and Gamble are emergencies this week - perhaps if there was to be a late change (e.g. Dempster/Goddard) the coaches would want more experienced players to choose from, considering there are already two debutants.

That's gotta be the concerndcstkfc wrote:Who would ruck if Mac went down???
I'm not even sure who is going to ruck while Macca rests. Maybe Simpkin to FB and throw that big streak Zac at it?
And there's not even an option amongst the emergencies so it looks like this is how we're going.
But like I said previously, no complaints from me. Ross knows what he's doing. And he's certainly proving to be anything but the one trick pony some have labelled him as!
