Especially because Pies have brought in a second ruck.

Oh well, you've got to be brave sometimes.

Who'd have thought Ross would play one ruckman :)

You know though, our emphasis has been on midfield pressure and turnovers...think we've given up on winning the ruck battle with the resources we have.

Goddard I thought may play, Dempster I am surprised...we need him, and you can only assume both guys are well.

Or late change given Baker is in, and Sean out?

OUT: A ruck/defender, half forward and an outside mid.

IN: Two defenders and a mid

=================================

And a man who was dropped two games ago is now the only ruckman?

Strange. However, in Ross we trust!

Who would ruck if Mac went down???

Anyway, bloody pleased for Ledge and Head.

Very brave call that these three have been picked ahead of Gamble, Mini and Raph. All credit to the selection panel for having some balls.

BTW congratulations to a champion servant of the club in Steven Baker reaching his 200th game!

Where the Pies have had the edge of late is numbers at the ball, and midfield rotations.

So Lyon looks to be taking them on there.

The young Siposs is very importnat now though with the team picked.

I reckon that Sam Fisher may play more time in the midfield than he has even over the last few weeks. Perhaps even pinch hit in the ruck.

Let's be honest about it though, Ben doesn't give our mids to much first use of the ball...in fact not many of our options at the moment with Gardi out are going to.

May as well go in with the plan to pressure and hassle.

They try to handball, the boys will love it, they try to bomb it long then our Fishers and Gilberts will gobble it up.

Something about Jones, Peakey, Joey, Steven running forward...giving the Collingwood defenders headaches....

Well it appeals 8-)

I reckon McEvoy will take all centre bounces and then around the ground when Macca is off we will make do with Fisher/Roo in the ruck with others like Ray, BJ and Gilbert going third man up.

That's what I was thinking - will be especially interesting to see how he goes this week.

I noticed Walsh has been "dropped" from the Emergencies list? Clarke, McQualter and Gamble are emergencies this week - perhaps if there was to be a late change (e.g. Dempster/Goddard) the coaches would want more experienced players to choose from, considering there are already two debutants.

That's gotta be the concern

I'm not even sure who is going to ruck while Macca rests. Maybe Simpkin to FB and throw that big streak Zac at it?

And there's not even an option amongst the emergencies so it looks like this is how we're going.

But like I said previously, no complaints from me. Ross knows what he's doing. And he's certainly proving to be anything but the one trick pony some have labelled him as!
