Personally I think Gilly will get past his poor start (I reckon he's done a great job in just putting what happened behind him to be honest) & will make those happy to look at trading him look stupid.
Blokes that are 194cm tall, run like the wind, mark & tackle like mad men don't grow on trees. Yes his disposal can be ordinary but that currently is more a reflection of his form than what he is capable of (in 2009 his disposal was reasonably good).
Make no mistake, we will spew if he leaves as he'll be a very good player for a long time.
On the other debate, no way in hell will Essenscum ever let Ryder go. In fact I don't think they'll let any of them go.
The carcass that is Port Adelaide should be looked at closely... I know Boak & a few others recently re-signed but they do have a few guys that would worth looking at. Boak is a jet... when he decides to come home, we should throw everything at getting him.

Would you be in form and motivated if you were playing at that rabble of a club at the moment? Who says he would be playing poorly if he was along side Joey, Dal, Armo...plugger66 wrote:Yep we need another player out of form.stkildathunda wrote:Word is Pearce has signed with GWS. could both come relatively cheap IMO
That rabble is one win behind us. If a player cant be motivated just playing the game then I reckon we shouldnt have any interest in him. I think he may have been dropped last year as well. Wouldnt call that great signs. Anyway he would be contracted for at least 300K a year. Not sure we want to play a guy like that anywhere near that money especially as we probably havent got any room in the cap.stkildathunda wrote:Would you be in form and motivated if you were playing at that rabble of a club at the moment? I did say last year we should have had a crack. dont think id want him given his performances this year. Im guessing this year if Blake, Gardi, Baker all retire then theres another spot on the veterans list for Milney.plugger66 wrote:That rabble is one win behind us. Why???clarky449 wrote:Thats why you would never be apart of a football club.saintbob wrote:I'd be putting both Roo and Dal on the market.
Get a couple of top 10 picks and a couple of established players as well
Both have been there 10 years, and while they've given us great service I can't see us winning our next flag with either one of these guys in the side.
I reckon both will opt out when the 10 year rule comes in anyway

Where would they want to go - Collingwood? And of course there would be a couple of other great veterans from every other club seeking the same thing. Train in the CBD, play in premierships every year. Sounds great. But how's Collingwood going to fit all those 10 year champs under their salary cap?
We may lose some, we may gain some. But there's nothing to suggest either Roo or Dal would be looking to go elsewhere as far as I can tell.
Maybe you know better bob?

To take paycuts and what not so they could see it through as a team?
I don't think any of our main players are getting traded any time soon.
