Massive challenge for our guys.
Collingwood supporter at work said you have to break Thomas' legs to stop him.

Shaw Thomas and O'Brien ..
if our forwards(apart from trying to kick one goal each) can somehow restrict the possession count of this trio (to 15 pressured possessions each)and curb their run and carry from the backline we'd be half a chance - but we need a full team with a fit Goddard also.
Gilbert would probably do a good restrictive job on Thomas .. but we need his run from halfback.
plus ..Pendlebury matched up by a defensive and offensive Fisher ?

Also remember Lenny absolutely cleaning him up a couple of years ago… fairly of course.mohannair wrote:I think it was in 2009 Finals.philtee wrote:Wasn't it Goddard who crunched Thomas with a hip and shoulder in the first GF last year ? A 2010 highlight.
He has become a complete player since then.
He has toughened up a lot in the last couple of years though… still s!@#$ me with all the fancy stuff he tries - works against lesser sides, but looks stupid in real pressure situations where it doesn't come off.
Hope he tries inside-out bananas from 50 against us…

When is your show on during next year's Comedy Festival? I won't miss it for the world! Such original & clever use of humour. I've never heard anyone make a gaffaw about Kosi & his reputed cluminess!
Gee I wish I could sit next to you on Sat night as you reel off belter after belter of comedic gems!
You sir, are a dead set prick. I would like to sit next to at the game as wellMiddo wrote:Ha Ha would probably knock himself out !!! I'm livin' in a madhouse
I think Steven has a running style exactly like Swan, and the last 2 matches seemed to accumulate possession the same way Swan does...
I honestly believe he will end up a very similar player, if he can get his tank to the required level, and perhaps be more of a forward threat....
I'd play Steven on Swan this week, follow him around through the centre, push forward when we're in possession...
Swan is struggling a little bit with injury, and isn't as explosive as he's been in the past... He won't blow Steven up, so it'd be a massive learning experience for him...
As for Thomas, I also believe he is the best player in the comp right now... Has no real weakness... And is so damaging with the ball...
CJ??... Gilbo??... Best 2 options IMO... CJ to Pendles, Gilbo to Daisy I guess...

Goddard's hit just makes me smile because pretty Daisy dums drops like a sack of spuds whereas BJ doesn't even break stride as he follows the play onwards.
Heaven.
Heaven.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Missing Lennys grunt work. Next year could have a nice hard midfield with Armo and maybe Steven in there to help our Warrior.

Just saw this article on Thomas. Pfffft. They sent him home for a few days prior to the Wet Toast game for some R & R.
In the middle of the season?
Interesting.
