Sean Dempster
Fantastic win by the boys today, fanatical desperation and will to win which resulted in both BJ and Sean Dempster going down as a result of friendly fire.
I know that Sean Dempster is one that many like to bag on this forum. What you saw in the last couple of minutes is the reason why this guy gets a regular game; it's not because he's the coach's pet or any rubbish like that but it's because he's a guy with limited talent who gives 200% week in and week out. He's given a job to do each week and he regularly carries it out well.
Bloody courageous act Sean Dempster and I'm sure you won a few fans today...hope you're back soon.

Wow a positive Dempster thread.
Good one. Did a great job today, but I am sure the usual suspects will b here to bag him

Lance or James??

Dempster played a ripper. As usual, his one percenters were constant. Difference was everyone was putting in today.
Hope he's back up soon!

Kept Ballantyne quiet as well. (although the little prick should have got that one from 20m out).dcstkfc wrote:Dempster played a ripper. As usual, his one percenters were constant. Difference was everyone was putting in today.

Well done to Dempster, he really is a great professional and team player. Super courageous. Hopefully there's no serious damage and he's back sooner rather than later.

I like the old Holden v Roller analogy.gringo wrote:I love the fact that he is supposedly a coaches pet, like a coach will play a lesser option because he likes a guys personality. Sean may have shown a few why he gets games. No rolls royce, but more an old holden, doesn't look fashionable, just keeps going along with minimal fuss.
I'll admit, I've been a harsh critic of Seano. I guess his latest encounter with danger has shown why RL holds him in very high esteem and his critics (like myself) are now eating their words

Coaches will often unduly favour players who work hard and do exactly what they are told to do. Dempster is one of these. I think there is a clear role for him down back ATM, especially with Baker out of the team. I don't like him as a defensive forward (nor did I like Eddy in that role). Lyon has sometimes had too many relatively talentless players performing roles. But Dempster has always been the most talented of these (at least he can kick).gringo wrote:I love the fact that he is supposedly a coaches pet, like a coach will play a lesser option because he likes a guys personality. Don't like the term talentless. These guys are all good enough to play at that level, maybe just not exciting players. Eddy is still young and should be given a chance to play off the back line again. He isn't going to come in to the finals and make the difference. He still is at an age where he has his best ahead of him.
