Former coach Voldemort's evil spawn (if you believe B4E's unlikely theory) was brilliant for the Pies today. Bringing the ball out from under packs, setting up forward thrusts with accurate passes with both feet FFS!saint tash wrote:Ouch. I wonder what Lovett is doing ATM

The pies are beatable , they get so much run off half back from maxwell and obrien , i carnt understand my no teams ever tag these players , they get so much uncontested ball each week and are always able to run it out of their defense with ease. stopping these two will mean their running players like thomas and pendlebury will have to work harder to get the ball . Who says you carn't tag denfensive players

Davis, as much as he has been loathed in recent times seems to have re-invented himself as a rebounding backman and their side, personnel wise has changed a bit since GF 1 & 2.mr six o'clock wrote:The pies are beatable , they get so much run off half back from maxwell and obrien , i carnt understand my no teams ever tag these players , they get so much uncontested ball each week and are always able to run it out of their defense with ease. stopping these two will mean their running players like thomas and pendlebury will have to work harder to get the ball . Match-ups I see Zac go to Dawes, Gwilt to Cloke, need to utilise Chips big time and free him up. Think this year they r rotating a few thru their F50 with less rotations, a bit like us. Swan, Beams, Krakouer, Thomas, Pendlebury, Blair, Wellingham and Sidebottom will all go thru there at some stage.
Is Bakes an automatic recall??? Just wouldnt like to play Nicky W down there. Gram for experience may get a recall.
At the end of the day as many have said it all depends on our injuries and reports.....

LOL @ spud. Yeah its annoying and then you get Brent Guerra today with 35 touches and 18 marks and 2 goals with 180 DT points.saint66au wrote:Maxwell aint getting that much footy..has been a total spud in my SC side all year (when hes playing)
He's another who has re-invented himself. And his hair.

It's winnable.
I'd rather the boys face them after a win, than a loss myself.
As I said elsewhere, last time these sides met, Saints had an unhealthy reliance on their stars.
This time St Kilda goes in the 'even' side, and it's the Pies that in recent weeks that have had a select few drag them over the line.

Jolly is apparently on ice for a little while yet. Have a hunch they are nursing a few thru this part of the season and then launching from around R.16 on.Teflon wrote:Will want to do exceptionally well in clearances IF we are to win.
Cant afford another Hawks training drill out of the middle - will Jolley play?...hope not...
Have heard Macaffer is one they have done this to.
Besides I thought they were sending a handful O/S for rehab.
Who bloody knows with this mob.

A St Kilda membership provides many privileges. One is the right to dream.bigcarl wrote:Would certainly turn the AFL season upside down if we were to down the Magpies. It would be a miracle recovery from where we were a couple of weeks ago.
Unlikely given our injuries, but I'm allowed to dream.
So knock yourself out bigcarl
Beat Collingwood sure.
Move on, well if they'll let you...
We play Collingwood this week and from Jon Ralph in his live chat today...
Spoke to Luke Ball for tomorrow's paper. He played the Saints FIVE times last year. Amazing. He's in great form. You reckon they could use him now with Lenny out?
and
All he needed was a bit of love. It wasn't about money or the length of contract. He just needed to be told he was needed, not that he was slow and overpaid.
Perhaps Luke is ready to finally open up, that he feels the dust has settled.
Or perhaps Ralph is just adding his own spin, dunno, but I find the timing a bit fishy.

We are playing them this week. I would suggest the timing is perfect and anyway how does any of that help or hinder either side?SainterK wrote:Beat Collingwood sure.
