The Key Stats

Post: # 1082046Post dcstkfc »

I don't know what to make of it...

39-42 to them in the clearances- imagine how good we'd be if we won this stat once!

149-134 our way in Cont Pos though.

89-77 Tackles their way- but they were the second to the footy and that doesn't include our wonderful 1%ers and pressure.

46-45 to us Inside 50

72% to 68% disposal efficency our way

interesting that we didnt dominate the stats.

maybe we need to look at the heat map thing and show where the possessions were. we seemed to own the corridor and let them have possessions on the wings. But owning the corridor is the way to win big - easier said than done of course but we certainly owned it yesterday with hardness at the contest and hard running.

Inside 50's surprises me, for a game we dominated right through…

A lot of Freos 50s were shallow 50s, between the 50 and 30m that we just picked off.

Yes, but we did win the all-so-important Centre Bounce Clearances 13-4!

This is very much improved. Gave us first chance up forward, not to mention took some heat off our backline where they didn't have to constantly defend quick high balls coming out the centre every single bounce.

agree. so important. you cant start the game in the oppositions 50 like we did against the hawks. centre clearances crucial. as i said - we owned the central corridor yesterday.

A handful of their inside 50's were cheap ones in junktime, too.

We dominated the stats when it mattered.

I am not suprised by the even inside 50's given how heavily we flooded the back half.
Mostly it was the fast break into our forward 50 that was the big difference. The ball tends not to rebound if you dont have any defenders down there.

You can not be seriously implying that we had the bad end of the stick with umpiring?

hard to understand that a team can dominate an opposition like we did , yet not even get 2.5 frees a quarter

This is a crucial statistic which hasn't been going our way all season.

Boy, have we missed #7 :(

i think the afl needs to look at the "home/away factor" across the board. Frees to home teams especially when teams are from different states seem to be as uneven as ever.

don't know what dimwit and his crew can do, the crowd screams for free in Perth, adelaid or smogney, they will usually be awarded the dicey frees

Those complaining about the umpires...come on. I can't remember (correct me if I'm wrong) not getting a call we deserved. If anything, I reckon they were fairly lenient a few times against us and should have paid more than one crucial free kick/50 metres to the Dockers.

Sometimes I'm not happy with the umpires. Yesterday, despite what the stats say, I was grateful to be on the end of some dubious calls.

The Umps tried, but epically failed.

No Head, no hope for them!

Did the Umpires Lose?

Post: # 1082783Post ace »

Frees to Fremantle 19
Frees to St Kilda 9

St Kilda still wins,
Better luck next time Umps.
