Saints who left and played in a premiership?
We all know Ball played in a premiership for the Pies, but I just remembered D.Wakelin left us and played in a premiership for Port Adelaide. Any other Saints who left and went on the greater things??

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Barry Hall is one who springs to mind (though he should have missed through suspension )spert wrote:We all know Ball played in a premiership for the Pies, but I just remembered D.Wakelin left us and played in a premiership for Port Adelaide. Mick Malthouse played on Richmond's 1980 premiership win after leaving St Kilda in 1976.
After leaving the Saints in 1980, Russell Greene played in Hawthorn's 1988 premiership win in what was his last game for the Hawks.

I'm pretty sure he played in both the 1983 and 1986 premiership teams before that as well.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote:After leaving the Saints in 1980, Russell Greene played in Hawthorn's 1988 premiership win in what was his last game for the Hawks.

Indeed I had forgotten about the Hawks previous wins. In fact Russell Greene would have played in 6 consecutive grand finals from 1983 - 1988 for a WLLWLW record.Sainternist wrote:I'm pretty sure he played in both the 1983 and 1986 premiership teams before that as well.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote:After leaving the Saints in 1980, Russell Greene played in Hawthorn's 1988 premiership win in what was his last game for the Hawks.
