Is he eligible...? Seem to remember only 8 games last year.. 1 the year before.
Thought he was average first half, but clearance work in last was fantastic..! 27 touches..!

Armo our best for me - got in there and did the hard stuff a la Lenny
Joey - great game, linking
Gwilty - cool and calm at the back
Roo, Bj, Dal all played well but I would still love to see BJ and Roo in the fwd line together, really putting pressure on the opposition defense.
Didnt like Dal being in defense all day - Ross left him on Green but in different sitaution could've been dangerous. I prefer to see him streaming out of the middle.
Anyway, 4 points, a confidence booster. Doesn't matter that Dees were undermanned.

Agree with your first two paragraphs although we'd want to play a LOT better next week to win that one.stevie wrote: Roo, Bj, Dal all played well but I would still love to see BJ and Roo in the fwd line together, really putting pressure on the opposition defense.

As for Jack, played infinitely better once moved into the middle. Great second half!

Re: Steven - Rising Star
To qualify for the NAB AFL Rising Star nomination, a player must be under 21 years of age as at January 1 of that year, must not have played more than 10 games to the start of that season and must not have been suspended by the AFL or State League tribunals during the season.Spinner wrote:Is he eligible...? SO:
Age: Qualifies (turned 21 in march)
Games: Qualifies (9 games at start of the season)
Suspension: Qualifies (none, i dont think club suspension counts)
YES he does qualify

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Yes, and I think his TOG this year indicates they are still keeping a close eye on him.Eastern wrote:Jack had groin problems (?OP) for much of last year !!skeptic wrote:it's a joke that Mini has been ahead of him for over a year
Not sure his work in the middle is to be compared to Mini anyhow, who didn't get a crack in there very often.

Can somebody please explain the Armogasms going on ATM? He was okay - and I think it's great that he's looking comfortable at AFL level, but far from BOG.stevie wrote:Armo our best for me - got in there and did the hard stuff a la LennyJoey - great game, linking

Steven OTOH - Having one of the young guys not only put his hand up for the hard ball, but lead the way in clearances is perhaps the most encouraging thing I've seen for St Kilda all year. A bit clumsy on a couple of his tackles, but we've seen him land enough tackles to this point that I'm sure he can address that.

Anyways...Wayne Britten must feel like a knob...better delist Steven, Armo, Cripps, Siposs...they've shown nothing.
Hopefully, this 'easy' game against a crippled opposition is the confidence boost they need to get going this year (for the seniors too), as opposed to pot shots from a random opposition coach.
