Well people on here reckon it has worked with Harvs so why not. They are champs.Zed wrote:.. and not for the reasons you may think. SOS working for GWS recruiting talent. If they take a similar line to Gold Coast then SOS will target established palyers (not our fringe or emerging players). I reckon we will lose 1 senior player to GWS given the discontent that a losing season brings. My tip is it will be Gilbert coz he will feel like he needs a fresh start more than most.Bernard Shakey wrote:Losing SOS is a bigger problem, along with the rest of the coaching personnel.
By the way, I reckon Max could do just as good a job as defensive coach as SOS did. I hope they try and get him back.
Bring back Max!!!

I am a fan of SOS as defence coach, but another in recent years who I think did a fantastic job for us was Terry Daniher. One year he did a terrific job with the forwards, and then he did a terrific job with our defenders. I think Grant may have got rid of him as he could see him as a competitor for the coaching job.

Yes… and all favourite sons, picked from emotion rather than finding the best person. It works occasionally - Worsfold, but generally bringing home a club great is done for the wrong reasons…stkildathunda wrote:All s*** coaches??dragit wrote:What do Tony Shaw, Michael Voss, Mathew Primus and Brett Ratten have in common?
Lets get the best people, not our past greats, if it happens to be them - even better!
Lol - thanks guys...I am still here, lurking in the background.
Now Dr, wash your bloody mouth out with soap for even saying my name and the filth's in the same sentence
Lol Matrix mate, you know me too well I'm having flashbacks of the Corner.
And on a serious note, last year at the Angels function, Max made it very clear that he was not an assistant coach at the Filth, but rather a mentor for the younger kids. He really stressed this point to us. The passion and love he showed for the Saints when he spoke make me honestly believe he hasn't sold his soul to the devil. He has just moved on for awhile. Time to clear the head, his thoughts and get alittle experience.
Also, as someone else mentioned previously, our gameplan had been worked out long before Bally and Max left us, it just took awhile for a team to actually be able to execute it.
How anyone can question Max's loyalty and love for us is unbelievable.
Lova ya Maxy

Considering the bulk of our problems are in the midfield I'm surprised there isn't more clamour for Tony Elshaug.
Thing is, he hasn't even left the building. It's not as if the IP has run off and the guy is unavailable for consultation.
