A useless yet interesting look at drafting

Useless is a good word to use in the title of this thread, all supporters could make a list just as damning on their clubs. After all, everyone makes mistakes, and hindsight is just that
A true king doesn't glass his girlfriend.
A true king doesn't smear his blood on an opponent when he cannot break a tag.
A true king does not label umpires disgraceful.
A true king is Robert Harvey.

Almost having a cry..... Why are so positive people have no idea on these issues....
I know for certain about beetham, from the person who was fed up with him and signed his exit papers.......and heard from more than person that stevens was a fortnight from being a saint.... Sanfl finals series to blame

Very easy to use the excuse that your offering. The club must re-examine all aspects of the whole operation, and that means looking at recruiting and player development. We ain't been perfect that's for sure!

SainterX does have a point... what is the use of an exercise such as this thread? It doesn't offer any of the benefits you suggest.twirlyhair wrote:"We can chart our future clearly and wisely only when we know the path which has led to the present". -Adlai E. The club re-examines its talent base and recruiting posture every year... right around October, I'd suggest. Recruiters don't learn from the past as much as adjust for it.
Although it's fascinating to read some of the club history/decisions from way back from those in the know (or who claim to be - whatever the case).
Half a point for a fancy philosopher's quote. Personally my favourite is John Sedgwick's "They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance".
"... You want to pose a threat to the opposition in as many ways as you can, both defensively and offensively. We've got a responsibility to explore all those possibilities - and we will."

Fair enough, but the point of the thread was to generate discussion and debate. Which it has. Which is why the thread is still going.InkerSaint wrote:SainterX does have a point... what is the use of an exercise such as this thread? Oh, okay. This is Saintsational, you know. Doesn't take much to keep a thread going around here.twirlyhair wrote:Fair enough, but the point of the thread was to generate discussion and debate. Which it has. Which is why the thread is still going.
