Young players always play better, or appear to be playing better when the experienced group in a team are playing well- it aint happening for us. Until Roo hits the game hard from first bounce, controls his position early, forget it.

this

when our players were flying anyone who slipped in looked like a gun (with the exception of dempster).

the fact is we are playing s*** footy, we lack hunger and passion.

Against adelaide we had a quarter with 11 shots at goal...Thats more than some games.

We have the talent, its everything else that is questionable.

Let's hope it turns around tomorrow. We need to get those on a big pay packet, to get back into the winning frame of mind, then the young guys will get the message. Looking forward to the young brigade slotting a few goals.

Geelong are a true Champion club. They ooze professionalism and have been able to confront adversity and turn it to their advantage. There is absolutely NO mileage in being "jealous"/"envious" of their recruitment etc. The facts are that they are a GREAT club. Our energies should be turned toward EMULATING them!!!! not whinging or bitching about their (perceived) good fortune.

And aren't they making a fist of it! I was rapt at the result last night!!! It was good to see the magpies put back in their box a wee bit! I admire Geelong as a club, they have turned themselves around from the great joke of the AFL (sleepy hollow dwellers?) into an awesome AFL outfit, and the manner in which they have weathered the departures of Thompson and Ablett speaks volumes for their organisation. I admire them, and want us TO EMULATE 'EM!!!!!!

As others have noted...when your good and core players are dominating...as they should be....it allows your fringe and kids to get into the game more.

No Gardi...no Lenny is a big cross to bare in 2011 for with numbers now always pressed onto where the ball is it is big advantage to win the centre battle and to then lock it in to your forward line till you score. Te Jolly-less Pies found out last night that with the ball so often won and then locked forward for the Cats, that they had a much harder time of it.

This combined with lack of form of many of our better players makes it doubly hard for our new players coming in.

Comps wide open again - it'll be tough but we ain't done yet.

Cats and pies are beatable
Dons have some probs ( them and Carlscum 11 bucks for the flag? Neither has a chance!)
Crows won't even make the finals - they were average against the weary Suns

Melbourne are crap. If they beat us next week we should tank

Just a few observations of Rd 8 all MHO
