ie. What's the official name of that end at Essendon home games?
MMM do nearly always call the city side the Hawkins wing- but not sure if it's only for dogs games
article states the Llyod end stays( coventry)
maybe with the #2 starting tomorrow we should introduce the Frawley end at the Coventry end for our Home games.

The Fletcher end idea for one game is ok, but putting the name of Lloyd up over the names of two of the all-time greats is ridiculous. Lloyd was a good player, but nothing like in the class of Coventry or Lockett.
If I were Lloyd, I'd feel ashamed and ask them to stop doing it.
But, TBH, I don't think I really care.
And, like some others on here, I don't really think of Lockett as being a former Saints player. He has more or less turned his back on the club.

His appearance at the Hall of Fame dinner last year apparently saw the frosty relationship thawing.

Dunno about recently, as I never listen to MMM's "football for bogans" call, but in 2006 they were certainly calling it the Doug Hawkins Wing at our home games. I emailed MMM voicing my annoyance and got an email back from Lee Simon saying that the broadcasters had made an agreement to call it the DHW at all games theresaintbrat wrote:m will be listening to hear now - but thats just for short whileJohnny Member wrote:What will the commentators refer to it as though?

I relayed that info to the Club, who were not happy at all and considered threatening to withdraw player interviews to any station who continued to do it. Dunno if they ever did though
