Always wondered why they named ends at Etihad after two blokes that never played there! well, Plugger played one forgettable game there...

Shouldn't the boundary line be called the 'Joey' Line?

m will be listening to hear now - but thats just for short while

MMM do nearly always call the city side the Hawkins wing- but not sure if it's only for dogs games

article states the Llyod end stays( coventry)

maybe with the #2 starting tomorrow we should introduce the Frawley end at the Coventry end for our Home games.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Stick up a giant poster of THAT pic of Roo, and call it 'the Riewoldt End'.

disgraceful

like I said, produce a player that can match the feats of Lockett and Coventry, then you have a case, otherwise stop pretending

The Fletcher end idea for one game is ok, but putting the name of Lloyd up over the names of two of the all-time greats is ridiculous. Lloyd was a good player, but nothing like in the class of Coventry or Lockett.

If I were Lloyd, I'd feel ashamed and ask them to stop doing it.

But, TBH, I don't think I really care.

And, like some others on here, I don't really think of Lockett as being a former Saints player. He has more or less turned his back on the club.

Dunno about recently, as I never listen to MMM's "football for bogans" call, but in 2006 they were certainly calling it the Doug Hawkins Wing at our home games. I emailed MMM voicing my annoyance and got an email back from Lee Simon saying that the broadcasters had made an agreement to call it the DHW at all games there

I relayed that info to the Club, who were not happy at all and considered threatening to withdraw player interviews to any station who continued to do it. Dunno if they ever did though

FFS. It's for ESSENDON games only. Who cares?!

We can rename the "Coventry" end the "Mohr" end or the "Loewe" end if we want for our home games.

No big deal.
