"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Looking forward to seeing Will Johnson play - the conditions may not work in his favour though. I hope he's not judged too harshly should the rain end up being very heavy, but I do like his willingness to put pressure on the opposition defenders - hopefully that will be shown either way.

the rain might not to be too bad for us
the Crows went OK and were a bit stiff against the Carlscum in good fast conditions

Looks about on the mark and in line with general discussion on another "team" thread earlier today.

Bad luck for Kosi. Great news for Will Johnson :!:

Stanley was everyone's pick to drop out and with Kosi also out, Blake was the obvious choice to undertake some ruck work.

Winmar an emergency again? Does Sandy have a bye this week, or does Winmar miss another match if they take him to Adelaide?

Good to see Cripps and Siposs in the mix, which will give them some encouragement :)

Kosi and Stanley out effectively means we should have 22 players rather than the 20 we had last week.

Very happy Stanley is not even an emergency.

The boy needs to have a good hard look in the mirror and decide if he has the wherewithal to play AFL footy.

Good to see 3 young guys encouraged, being named emergencies, Winmar, Cripps, and Siposs. Maybe Siposs is not that far off selection after all
Could one of them be a late change ?

Cannot believe Croweaters have omitted Vince - would have him at the Saints in heartbeat

Yep they did look okay, plus the Bluebaggers had about 8+ more free kicks. Against that though Carlton had heaps more scoring shots and could have maybe wiped the Croweaters

not sure on that but if the named 22 are all ok to go
Winmar & Cripps could do with a run at Sandy you would think
A hard one for the powers you would recon!

Don't get me wrong, I've loved Jason Blake's contribution to the club in the last 10 years, but he just no longer good enough to play in the 1's.

He has been carrying a injury for few weeks so maybe he just couldnt get up this week... Otten is also a big out for them, gives them alot of run off the backline.

I love Blake and very happy he is back in the side. HOwever, he is not a ruckman, plain and simple. He will be rubbished for his game no doubt on Sunday.

Stanley is 200cm, 20 years of age and with 9 games of AFL experience playing in a team which is totally focussed on giving the ball to one player in the forward line - even if Stanley is offering a viable option.

I would be more concerned with the player named at CHF because he will give nothing if played in that position - rain or shine!

This is going to be a very, very tough game.

If the rain arrives as forecast - and it does not look like it at present with another absolutely perfect near 30 degree day - it may assist the likes of Baker, McQualter, Milne etc. etc. and counter the option Adelaide has to go tall and stretch our defence which lacks players who play tall.

The chatter from AFC yesterday that Koschitzke and Stanley were in major doubt was on the money.

Adelaide are up for this - and very confident.

I would have liked another runner to come in with Johnson. Cripps or Winmar would both be a better option than Blake. Aside from Tippett & Walker, they have no other talls to throw down there. Blake isn't a ruckman either ...

With both Kosi & Stanley out we need Blake, if only to help out in the ruck.

Okay then thanks, didn't think Vince could fall out of favour so quickly - he would be one of the Crows major playmakers

personally I think it's a terrible set back that Kosi is back out (injury or not he must come good soon) (but I am a Johnson fan).
and for sure, you can fairly criticise Blake in the ruck, but is he really any less effective than McEvoy?

...and poor old Tommy Lynch must be a little smelly in his dacks with the inclusion of WJ.
