On the money again saintbrat - 12.15 interview from Frankston (does he ever take a break). :!:

Ross agrees that the 3 tall forwards approach may need reviewing. "Hints" that Will Johnson will be a definite consideration this week. General chat. Nothing said about Adelaide's good performance last night.

Interesting when he was asked about Gilbo, said that having so many lies told about you has to affect you. No one on the panel picked up on it, or they chose to ignore it !!

Chose to ignore it :!:

I like the idea of giving Johnson a run next week against the Crows.

Sounds like he thinks Sipos is close.

I wonder which of the 4 young players drafted last year will debut first?

Rated the young forward options as Johnson, Siposs & Lynch - in that order.

Was pretty staggered to hear him say that Lynch was behind both Will Johnson and Siposs, in terms of current form. Not sure Siposs has had too many 33 possie and 13 mark BOG games of late.

The fact that Lynch has been playing a fair bit in defence shouldn't make that much difference.

But yeah Crawf asked him about Lynch and Ross clearly put him behind the other two kids.

Yeah it was very obvious that he didn't have anything positive to say about Lynch. Thought about it for a couple of seconds before answering, as Crawf was talking Lynch up and Ross clearly didn't want to agree with him.
There seems to be something that Ross seriously doesn't like about Tom.

I'm really curious about this. Lynch seems like a fairly humble, innocuous bloke who works hard.

Is he some kind of smartarse know it all behind the scenes or something?

Wonder of Zebraman has anything to say on the matter?

The context of the conversation was which fwd could come in.. I think he's probably right considering Lynch, whilst doing very well in defense lately has shown very little as a fwd and thus is unlucky to come into the team (as a fwd) before the other two boys.

I think that you may be close to the mark realdeal.

Johnson's bio states that he is a backman, but he seems to be able to make the forward transition.

because we have a settled backline, perhaps they give Lynch more time on the forward line at Sandy, to see what he can do. :?:

and from a quick perusal Ch nine don't update much

given the interview was seemingly pretaped....photo above taken about 2 -3hours before interview shown..

he did say he was familiar with heavy dews from Sydney and what the ground staff there did was water the centre square only by hand- not the whole ground...

Agree with your first sentence and as for your question, I would very much doubt it. If you have the sort of character that leads to you captaining your state (Vic Metro- half the state) in the National Under 18 Championships, you surely have a good character and leadership qualities.
So I take it's something else. It was also reported that we put Tom through vigorous testing before we drafted him, so surely if he had some issues they'd have spotted them then. We were also apparently very impressed with the way he came back from a knee reco at 16, so I doubt he doesn't work hard enough.

I reckon Cripps will be 1st cab off the rank. Some have said, and I agree that Sippos looks like a real find but isn't ready yet. What Ross said confuses this a bit.

From what I've read & heard Ledger is a fav of Ross and has only been held back by injury

Also handy for those of us in different time zones !!! ;)

However an insider or two at Sandi that you read on Bigfooty have been stating since last year that there are some attitude issues that Lyon wants Lynch to work on as well as aspects of his game...and this was one reason why Lynch was left on Inspector Gadget so long against the Dons last year.

The vibe seems to be that he rates himself too highly, and in turn does not do some of the team things expected... That is the goss anyway...
