Armitage and McEvoy were beaten as a Ruck and Rover combination. Both work hard but are a far cry from the quality of Hayes and Gardiner.

Agree wholeheartedly on the others

Others may disagree but I'd add the 100 gamer to that list.

agree. those blokes all did well. ive been critical of dempster but he had a good game. competed well and made less mistakes than plenty of his mates.

Dempster did a few good things against Essendon.

He does little things that go unnoticed.

i've been really impressed with mcevoy, armitage and smith.

smith first 2 games have been great!!!!

they need to build on their games. get more consistent and start really dominate a game or two and swing a game by their own boot.

Re Dempster - as posted pre-game on on Wednesday, "Dempster is probably playing a specific role each week and the Match Committee are obviously happy with what he is delivering."

The Saints supporters mark him hard at times. He came to us with a reputation as a good kick, but all I hear is how hopeless his delivery is.

The trouble is, as supporters, we watch from an "overall" perspective and probably miss a lot of the one-percenters.
I stand ready for the onslaught.

I think that this still stands.

Your point is the the correct one. Technically not correct though cos Gardi was a freak early in his career. Dominated when he was 19.

Good to see some players are starting to work themselves into form.

Now if we can get the rest of the team to do it we can turn into a very dangerous unit once more. Especially if the radar stays off us and the Duthie saga doesn't cause more trouble.

i must be missing something - mcevoy would be the worst ruckman in the comp. comprehensively beaten regardless of a rookie opponent or an experienced opponent. that's his primary role - and we need to find someone better.
like armo's aggression, and would perserve with him - but he needs rapid improvement. like steven, but needs to find more ball. jones had a good game. ray was excellent.

imho...we would have won the first two games and would now be three and one if schneids had been playing....
