According to Lyon Ins are from...
Well as much as you can with Ross, listening to his radio interview tonight and then running it through the Enigma Code-breaking Machine I get the players that are in the selection mix for Ins this week are:
* Schneider..has stated he is 100% in.
* Then Steven, Smith, Kosi and Johnson are up for consideration.

What if it's out of Johnson and Archer? Anyone out there seen enough of either to form a view?
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

If it comes down to one of those two I'd give Johnno a crack.Thinline wrote:What if it's out of Johnson and Archer? Anyone out there seen enough of either to form a view?
Both are attacking the ball like there's no tomorrow but at this stage Will looks more likely to feature on the scoreboard. I was really impressed with his efforts last Saturday.

yeh i reckon johnson would be a better choice than archer and even kosi for that matter . why because he's a more dangerous forward and therefore fletcher would have to be more accountable and not be third man up against roo . or run off and set up all of there attacks imo.Thinline wrote:What if it's out of Johnson and Archer? Yes Ross might have been scared off by Fletcher's BOG performance in Rd 18 last year against Lynchy.degruch wrote:Lynch / Fletcher does have that Dawson / Hall vibe about it.SydneySainter wrote:What about Lynch?

Lynch has been playing well across half back for Sandy.degruch wrote:Lynch / Fletcher does have that Dawson / Hall vibe about it.SydneySainter wrote:What about Lynch?

If he were to come in this week it's doubtful he'd cross paths with Fletcher all that often.

I guess he'd know Lynch's capabilities and mindset better than us...it could go either way, but he did get towelled up royally on debt. Unfortunately, the last thing we need atm is another medium to tall backman.. we already have Dawson, Blake, Fish, Gilbert, Raph, Dempster. We need some mids and forwards..
Stevens, Smith, Schnieds, kosi and Cripps in the coming weeks imo

BUT
1. Although we are well served with med/tall backs Lynch could be seen as a replacement for an under performing defender (eg Dempster)
2. I still think Lynch will ultimately play forward.

I hope Lynch will ultimately play as a fwd but at the moment he's not ready for that.
Whilst he hasn't been fantastic I don't think Dempster has been too bad and with Bakes out I think he's safe for the time being. We definately have to look at who we play back there tho.. We just cant take Bakes, blake and Demps into the same team every week.. The match ups just havent been right the past couple of weeks.

Dempster was only an eg. Yes he can play on a small but if we're looking at a side that has Baker in it he may not be required.bergholt wrote:but - dempster can play on a small while lynch can't.Dr Spaceman wrote:BUT

I suppose the point I was trying to make is that although Lynch is playing as a back, and we already have many, many backs, that does not necessarily mean he won't get his chance at some stage.

lynch should play back flank where has done well at sandy and some senior player should MAN THE F*CK UP and go fwd.degruch wrote:Lynch / Fletcher does have that Dawson / Hall vibe about it.SydneySainter wrote:What about Lynch?

I wasn't that keen on him coming in, but to drop him after 1 game would be unfair.
takes time to develop ur brain to adjust to speed and tempo and timing.
not unlike test cricket.
all i know is we cant have all 3 of bakes//blake/dempster down back. something has to give.
the kosi one is interesting. WOuld not be suprised by what has been said that he is named on thursday night in the extended bench and perhaps given a half to three quarters of a game at sandy ressies (not seniors as this would pu pressure on other saints players as only having two on the bench last week early did). Then play him a full game for sandy during the bye and have him in for round 5.
Look like steven and schneider will come in IMO as the only two changes. Would be happy to have another runner come in for blake personally, shame the lack of a bench pushed cripps during the sandy gamebecause he would add dash. Can we play a.smith in a run with or is this just going back to square one with too many defenders.

maybe, but is one small defender enough? most sides have a couple of decent, quick small forwards. i know we've had a go at playing gilbert or gwilt on smalls, but it's not a practice that's been that successful.Dr Spaceman wrote:Dempster was only an eg. and especially against essendon, let's make sure we can cover at least a couple of small forwards as they have a lot. unfortunately we're missing polo and geary, who could both probably play back there. so i don't think we can drop dempster.
