Lynch and Gamble up forward

Post: # 1052512Post SydneySainter »

Might be an option to have both in the forward line.

Kosi ain't coming back for at least a few weeks and the lack of a pre-season may mean we won't see Stanley for a while. I like Lynch's pre-season form but Gamble currently gets the nod because of experience. I think both Gamble and Lynch could play along side Roo, because Blake up forward isn't the answer.

Thoughts?

I'd prefer Archer instead of both.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

If gamble is in the team...then it needs to not be with only one tall forward in the team.

He is only barely a medium...

Playing him on scarelett wasa big mis-match.

agree. not gambles fault. on scarlett ff. total mismatch. gamble should be 3rd or 4th tall. hes a medium anyway. and scarlett pretty good defender.
im really disappointed coach wont just back gilbo 100% up fwd.

gamble a lamb to the slaugter. gamble is an ok player on a crap defender with other talls up there. hes a clever foil type.

Can i ask how you thought Gibert went in all our practice matches when played forward? And in the interclub practice games?

Buckets still looks good when you see him in the crowd. I'm sure he'd love to jump the fence

If he was good enough he'd be dominating the VFL but doesn't seem to be doing too much.

Lynch, like most of our young kids have major AFL deficiencies.
Terrible finishing skills, sloppy disposal, wont cut it at the top level

As much as we hope the kids can do something, facts are they aint the messiah.

Yes they need game time and expposure, but only if you know they will make it, Will Lynch definately make it? I aint holding my breath.

Cripps has high junior rating, looks like a definate 10 year player, so put him in. Ledger when back to full fitness, also should get a game. Crocker, when he puts on at least 5kg, then he can also be given games.

Facts are though, the cupboard isn't that well stocked with talent.

James Gwilt never dominated the VFL consistently in the 5 or so years he was on our list before becoming a regular last season

an occassional game didn't hurt his development

Ross and co need to make a decision about some of the young players- either play them or get rid of them. Lynch and Heyne- why keep them on the list..this is the year they should be getting game time, same for Stanley possibly. Ross seems bloody afraid to change anything, even if the players he is using in the seniors are not playing well. Gamble is good pickup, but even only after one game, I see a real reluctance by RL to change anything -jeez mate ..think out of the box this year please!!!
