My Charity run for Leukemia

Post: # 1035097Post Calais »

First of all , Apologies to mods if I'm not allowed to post this thread or if it's deemed inappropriate.

About a month ago my father was told he has less than 3 months left to live due to both Leukemia and pancreatic cancer. ( Both separate ) So I've taken it upon myself to try and make a difference and make my old man proud.
I will be doing a charity run from my home in Rowville 3178 to The MCG ( Melbourne Cricket ground, roughly 34kms and 6hr 10m. I'll be running it alone and unassisted . The reason I'm attempting this is to both raise funds and raise awareness. People need to understand that they can make a difference, not matter how big or small, it will still have a positive effect.

I want to raise $1000 so please make a donation. Fund's will be donated to The leukemia foundation. Guys this honestly means the world to me.

Please donate here - http://www.mycause.com.au/mycause/raise ... p?id=18008

Thank you Mahmoud Chatila. - http://www.facebook.com/#!/Sainters09

Entirely fine mate.

Probably more suited to the general forum but seeing as that doesn't get as much traffic you can definitely keep it here.

Really sorry to hear about your dad and what you're doing is great.

That sounds like one hell of a run, make sure you break your shoes in first :)

Hey mate.

That's fine having it here until you do your run. It's for a good cause so hopefully we can help you raise the $1000 and more.

To an extent, know what you are going through. Had my father diagnosed with cancer almost 2 years ago now, was at a very late stage, but luckily he has had the treatment and everything seems fine now.

There have been many who have proven the odds wrong, hope for your sake this is another one of those times.

Best of luck, and best wishes to your father.

Ps. Just looked and you're up to $1615 already, that is brilliant!

I hope you are feeling better and i hope they get the lowlives who did this to you.

Hope all goes well, pity you aren't doing it for the NAB Grand Final you could then watch the boys win the NAB Cup.

Really, Crawf rang you?

Curious, how did he find out?

I admire his attention to such causes.

I reckon being a journo/supercoach promoter, he'd be on bigfooty and maybe saw your thread there?

Unless he reads here? 8-)

Nice gesture by him, his work for charity is all class.

Just put a small donation in, best wishes to you and your Dad.

Condolences to you and your family Calais, and RIP to your father.

I read your update and newspaper article on completion of your run, keep us informed of your next event, I'd be happy to contribute again.

Good on you for not sitting on your hands, and raising awareness and funds.

Best wishes.
