Dermott = Troll
I used to respect Dermott Brereton and what he had to say about football.
Last night on SEN's pre-match show, however, he repeated his assertion that St Kilda
will never win another premiership "because they are St Kilda".
We know the Saints have come within a sniff of two flags in two years when the Grand Finals could have gone either way.
For Dermott to come out with this cliched superficial judgement once again, before a shot has been fired in the season,
demonstrates his vindictiveness, shows his clouded judgement, and shows that he is unfit to comment on matters
concerning the Saints.
Kudos to Kevin Bartlett for trying to put Dermott back in his box.

He may be many things, but I'm pretty sure he knows more about winning AFL/VFL premierships than all of us here combined and he knows what it takes to win them. He obviously doesn't see that thing in us.
We have done nothing to prove him wrong in the past two years and or course it's very early days, but this year is looking like more of the same, at the moment.
Teams that win premierships don't let games like tonight slip. We need to become ruthless.

I agree with your last line...we lack the killer instinct. But DB has been a toe poke and a bad bounce away from looking like a total idiot the last two years, plus he had no idea how the Hawks beat us in 2008...he has as much of an idea as I do, but I've never played an ALF game! Me for President!AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:He may be many things, but I'm pretty sure he knows more about winning AFL/VFL premierships than all of us here combined and he knows what it takes to win them. Aren't we the only club he hasn't played for......Moccha wrote:He's always hated the clubphiltee wrote:I used to respect Dermott Brereton and what he had to say about football.

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window
I'm not trolling with this reply so take it on face value.degruch wrote:Erm...you don't watch a lot of footy, do you.Tess wrote:This!shmic_s wrote:Our success has resulted in the hatred.

Carlton count their last successful season as 95 when they won the flag not 99 when they lost the Granny!
Essendon same for 2000, rather than 2001 when they lost the Granny.
Collingwood before last year considered their last successful season as 1990, not 2002/03 when they lost the Grannies.
I understand you have to take whatever you can hang your hat on .... but it's that very culture Dermie is talking about that is holding your club back.

It's laughable what this club regards as success, it's pathetic, years ago supporters were lapping up the streak video when we won 10 games in a row.
How embarrassing is that, just like the reply you received here "Erm... you don't watch a lot of footy , do you? this sums up how stupid and deluded some St kilda supporters can actually be
Success is winning premierships, anything else is just a circle jerk!
Thanks for your input Jess, now **** OFF
