I am not so sure?
The term "major sponsor" is well understood and it seems this press release deliberately avoids the term.
The release says Centrebet is "*a* major partner" of the Saints.
This one may be a well watered-down version of a major sponsorship?
Anyone else reading it that way?

Everyone has a personal choice in life with the direction they take, I don't gamble so i don't think having them as a " Major Partner" will make me now want to race out to have a bet, the same if our new next "major partner" was the "Daily Planet" Gentlemens club, doesn't mean that I would be racing out there either.

At the moment we are copping it but like any other club it will pass. Cant remember the Tigers coping much because they has Luxbet sponsoring them. Its legal and heaps of people bet and 95% dont have a problem doing so. Bookies are the scourge of sport the world over and we base our future on their sponsorship. Very sad.

Where did you get the 95% figure from, or did you make it up as usual?
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Had a bad night? Well 5% have gambling problems so that suggests 95% dont. Maybe you and Stinger should get together. Both sound as sad as each other.Bernard Shakey wrote:Well it's obviously been good for the Tigers.plugger66 wrote:At the moment we are copping it but like any other club it will pass. If they pay us money they are great.
If we win a grand final this year with centrebet sponsoring us it will be a sign of ridiculously good gambling luck and i will wager my house on the roulette table.
They're not the good old feel good days of Phillip Morris and Tooheys but hey a vice is a vice and cash is cash.

Here is a stat from the problem gamblers website.
It is estimated that there are at least 290,000 people in Australia with a gambling problem.
There are a lot more alcoholics and alcohol sponsoring is ok.
I don't have a problem with centrebet sponsoring the club, I have a punt now and then as long as you budget for it there is no harm done.

Really similar. The majority of people control themselves and only havenit occasionally, but some can't control themselves.
Fast food impacts on a person far more than gambling does. Don't go all self-righteous on me.
that right?....so some fast food addicts kill themselves do they.....???
