Zebras David Gallagher on Southern Sport PodcastHome » Zebras David Gallagher on Southern Sport Podcast

The Beach Road Oval is in pristine condition, the new Zebra’s Social Club has been built and there are plenty of fresh faces appearing but there is still one constant at Sandringham. The former Adelaide and Carlton AFL star has become a integral part of the club over the last several years. Renowned for his hard running and team focused ethic Gallagher is again set to be at the forefront of The Zebs push for yet another premiership. Southern FM’s freshest recruit Melissa Hughes got David out of bed at 9am for a chat on Southern Sport.

It won't be the same without the great man in the goal square.

To me it looks like he was deliberately "exited".

For his role and at his age he didn't need to do full-on training.
They just used his "Jihad" commitments as an excuse to force him out.
Shame as I'm sure he had another 60 goals left in him.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

The same thing happened to Sautner when Brett Lovett was appointed coach at Frankston for season 2003 ...he quite rightly demanded a 100% commitment to training and as a result of being unable to do that, Sautner moved to the Northern Bullants.

I applaud Brett Lovetts decision to insist on a set amount of training sessions that must be attended...you can't show favouritism to a particular player...even one that has a record as good as Sautners...

Once Brett Lovett was appointed I'm sure Sautner would have realized the training reqime that would be required by the new coach...

At least now we may be able to train and develop a new full forward.
