Let's hope the new number gives him more luck.
Was the best I've ever seen him play and move.

Raph can play. Question is can he be durable.
A fit Raph is one way of freeing up Gilbert.
Walsh also looked good and so we might have few good defensive options to choose from.

I was thinking the same thing. He seemed to play more like Max Hughton with the #8 on his back.

Totally agree, Raph looked good, as long as his hammies hold out and he gets more game time things could like up for him. Well done Raph

But, will be negative when it is called for as always...

Also, his build is very impressive. Looking extremely solid these days.
I've been a critic in the past (not a bagger, just call it as I see it) - but he looked a more composed, confident player out there tonight & the poor bloke deserves some luck.

Looks ready to pick up where he left off in 2010, although it was a light training run tonight. Hopefully he won't be 'potential' for another season.

Raph looked good tonight, seemed really quick, composed, moved freely.
Now just play like that and better all the time
and don't get injured.

Totally agree. He looked great. Hopefully they have done some great work with him during the off season. Apparently his injury was as bad as Nick's so he's had a long road to recovery but he's also had a long time to get it right.
Tonight was a good start for him though.
Let's hope there is more to come.

Looked no different for mine, except bigger. This is a bloke who has played about 20% as finals, and apart from the 2009 GF hyper critics has a record to be proud of. He's had rotten luck with injuries, but any open minded judge will consider his performaces in big games with respect.
We are a far better side with him in it. He and Jimmy ( another much maligned for so long) are versatile, strong, quick and complimentary.
Ball use is Raph's deficiency, but he can, and will, get better because he's a dead set soldier who loves the joint. When he went down in the west last year he was in the process of making critical skunks eat excreta. He will again.

2 of our most maligned defenders of the last little while in Gwilt and Clarke were 2 of the best last night.
Still gives me the giggles that Clarke is taller than Gwilt, but Jimmy is the KPD.

How was that soft free towards the end, when Gwilts arms lightly brushed the Essendon guy and he gave a diving performance worthy of a gold medal

Saw that one K.
Looks like Lloydy's earning a bit of spare cash as their specialist forward coach

I was one of his detractors but always willing to be proven wrong in this area.
I didn't think he had the capability to improve but it seems he has and look forward to seeing more.

Agreed!
Not sure if this makes sense... But looked stronger.. and slimmer at the same time.
Strength in some marking contests... and super f****** quick on the run!
