Herald Sun picking on someone else
Another AFL Club gets the moral outrage blowtorch -

Sad to see it happen to another Club, but at least it gets the vultures off
our carcass for a while. Cue Hinch blowing up like a puffer fish, Mitchell blowing a fuse, Caro hand-wringing, Herald Sun sales up.

WOW !! Hang on Footy players are human after all !!!!!
Shees, it would be nice if another club could take the spotlight, but this is not it unfortunately

I am excited to stay at St Kilda and this is a great result for the Club and all our fans. I’m proud to be part of the Saints and am pleased to be playing football with the Clubâ€

Don't worry guys I just got a call from an inside source at the club and they have assured me that the boys are aware of another club being in the spotlight and they are already hard at work trying to out do them.

True unfortunately MM.Mr Magic wrote:St Kilda's 'poor off-field culture' showing through again!HSVKing wrote:Imagine if it was us... We'd be hung and shot for these kind of antics!
Another club, so it's all fine, boys having fun apparently.
Sadly these drunken hijinks can be traced back to the Bulldogs importation of John Bennett, Con Gorozides and Mark Kellett a few decades ago

Have to admit, I was quiet happy to see another club having not so perfect behaviour. I now view these incidents quite differently to what I use to. I think everyone needs to stop expecting AFL players to be angels, and accept its ok to let off a bit of steam in the off season. As long as no one is hurt and the law is not broken, whats the big deal.
Not the paper or radio I heard. Is this again we get picked on stuff.HSVKing wrote:Imagine if it was us... We'd be hung and shot for these kind of antics!

WB copped plenty on SEN today and were page 3 in the paper for something that happened 3 month ago. Dont see any sign about them having fun and who cares.

WB's stuff, like much our stuff, simply shouldn't be on air.plugger66 wrote:Not the paper or radio I heard. Is this again we get picked on stuff.HSVKing wrote:Imagine if it was us... We'd be hung and shot for these kind of antics!

That said, Hawkins 'boys will be boys' defence was trotted out pretty quick.
Wonder if anyone in the media thought ask, say, Stewie Loewe his views on privacy breaches round about KD time or, say, Danny Frawley about his views on prescription drugs and their place in sport at the time of Zac's et al's indiscretion?
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
I think the reason was simple. Hawkins was on the most famous footy trip ever. Not sure those other guys have any relevence to any of those issues.Thinline wrote:WB's stuff, like much our stuff, simply shouldn't be on air.plugger66 wrote:Not the paper or radio I heard.
