I don't know what I expected, but I didn't really feel it did him justice.saintbrat wrote:they seem to only have one passage of play and the G/F cup presentation as game vision

Shattered dreams are just opportunities for improvement. Live and learn, fail and try harder. 2011 beckons.

he only gets half an hr??
better than nothing i guess
i still enjoyed it
I am not sure they had many other options. Bugger all film of him and it was only luck he was interviewed before the GF. I thought it was very good and quite sad.matrix wrote:my girl just said the same thingSaintDebi wrote:I don't know what I expected, but I didn't really feel it did him justice.saintbrat wrote:they seem to only have one passage of play and the G/F cup presentation as game vision

I was very young at the time, but recall being told that Synman's opposition player refused to change tops with him. (I think it may have been because he was Jewish but I am not sure. I believe it was something that was controversial though!)plugger66 wrote:Very sad stuff watching the Doc but also that friggin GF. Ian Synman was the only one with brains in 1966. Being a good jewish boy he probably knew the value of the jumper.

I remember being told about how he used to run laps at training, bouncing two footies at once. Has anyone else heard of this?

I was 15 at the time and I remember my old man talking about it with a fair bit of anger. Pretty much what you could expect from somebody from Collingwood. It could explain why Tuddenham defected to Essendongeorgie girl wrote:I was very young at the time, but recall being told that Synman's opposition player refused to change tops with him. Passing on the cup to another Saints premiership captain. Sadly won't ever happen now.
Good work putting it together in a couple of days, but as someone else said, most other players just get a snippet on the news.
RIP Doc.
