Very sad stuff watching the Doc but also that friggin GF. Ian Synman was the only one with brains in 1966. Being a good jewish boy he probably knew the value of the jumper.

I don't know what I expected, but I didn't really feel it did him justice.

I am not sure they had many other options. Bugger all film of him and it was only luck he was interviewed before the GF. I thought it was very good and quite sad.

I agree with that. And I guess you are right. Prob not a lot of footage of him.

How many footballers that pass get any more than a news grab?

A great man has passed, as typical in life we only realise how great, once they are gone.

I was very young at the time, but recall being told that Synman's opposition player refused to change tops with him. (I think it may have been because he was Jewish but I am not sure. I believe it was something that was controversial though!)

Channel 7 probably have more footage?! Disappointed we didn't see more of him playing.

I remember being told about how he used to run laps at training, bouncing two footies at once. Has anyone else heard of this?

I recently saw some footage of the Doc playing in the wet. It was great stuff. You have never seen such ball control with a slippery ball.

I was 15 at the time and I remember my old man talking about it with a fair bit of anger. Pretty much what you could expect from somebody from Collingwood. It could explain why Tuddenham defected to Essendon

There was only one thing which would have done justice to this great man...

Passing on the cup to another Saints premiership captain. Sadly won't ever happen now.

Good work putting it together in a couple of days, but as someone else said, most other players just get a snippet on the news.

RIP Doc.

Very emotional viewing last night.

Thought it was great that they gave him this tribute, but agree with others in wanting to see more.

For those who were lucky enough to see him play, does that footage do him justice?

RIP Doc.
