Absolutely carried by a collingwood team of fast furious players. I think he'll be finished AFL footy either by the end of this year of next.
But he has a great character blah......
Yep Ball is no good - 5th in the B&F in a premiership team.
Played well everytime I saw him - more like he carried some of those outside types
Maybe posters who seem to know the salary structures can post all the $ again - inflate whatever he was paid/gets to paint him as black as possible
Note most of these figures they quote are based on media opinions
Well St Kilda were quoted a number of times that we offered him a million over 3 years (I haven't ever seen a request from anyone at the Club for a retraction).
He nominated himself in the draft at 500k pa for the first 2 years of a 3 year contract, with the third year to be negotiated later. Hands up anybody who actually believes he'll accept substantially less than the 500k for the third year?
Which part of the above would you like to dispute?
I apologise if the figures quoted cause you concern in your painting of the club as 'black' and Ball as 'white'.
Sometimes facts can be so awkward when your trying to paint a particular picture.
As I've said repeatedly I have no issue with him wanting to leave because he was offered substa, ntially more.
My only objection to the whole sorry saga was the attempt by his 'people' to portray us in a bad light.
Why is it so difficult for some to understand that we 'valued' him less than Collingwood did in monetary terms?
Gold Coast certainly valued Abett more than Geelong did, adn yet I don't see articles about his fractured relationship with his coach being the cause of him leaving?
What's the difference other than Ball's manager making disparaging remarks about our Club in an attempt to get Ball to Collingwood adn Liam Pickering just stating the bleeding obvious - the deal is too good?
Yes the figures are different but the principle is the same, IMO.
