Change of Attitude

Post: # 1033807Post 3rd generation saint »

Ten years ago, if I had got the Christmas present my brother gave me, it would already be framed and hanging on my wall.
The present was a poster of St.Kilda's legends from it's Hall of Fame.
Names such as Baldock, Stewart, Lockett etc.
However I find myself not that enthused, though still very much respecting it, but not to the degree I would have years ago.
That is because right now there is only one poster I want, one that says St.Kilda Premiers.
I still remember the one thing Robert Walls said that sadly was the truth in the difference between Carlton and St.Kilda and that was Carlton celebrated great teams, we celebrate great individuals.
Which is understandable because we haven't had the great teams through our history only individuals.
So to my brother, I do very much appreciate the gift, however, it will not be going onto the wall until I get the one I really want.
Hopefully that will be in just over 8 months time.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Robert Walls has loved the last two seasons!

Every year he tips St Kilda to be 2nd, i.e. lose the GF because he can't bear to think of them winning it.

I think you are a bit harsh on Walls. I think he wanted us to win last year and tipped us against the Pies.

Not sure about that, but Caroline "Bl**dy" Wilson tipped us for the Flag. Amazing.

Incorrect. Walls helped us appoint Lyon; he wants the vindication of Lyon taking us to a flag.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Well, I wish he would say it.

He got knuckled at Moorabbin by both Big Carl and Cowboy and he just can't bring himself to publicly get enthusiastic about the saints.

I'll be interested to read what he says in the Age's March season preview this year.

Disagree mate... Walls has been a reasonably strong supporter of us over the past few seasons.

The point I made is that at the START of the year he never tips us for the flag.

Grand Final week is different...there's only two sides to pick from. He may have tipped us in GF week but he didn't tip us in March. He never has.
