Making it as simple as possible, for the y/e 31/10/10:
Total revenues S37.9m (up by $10.2m from 2009)
Net Profit $7.5m (up by $6.3m on 2009)
Balance Sheet has a surplus of $7.5m (2009 defecit $125k)
Basically the club has spent $8m during the year on the new facility funded mainly by the year's profit.
I had a fair bit of involvement with the club financially during the 90's and early 2000's and these figures are the best the club has had in the modern era. You cannot win premierships on the smell of an oily rag! The Saints are on the verge of repeating what occurred in the 60's. We just have to stop the off field distractions and put all energy into the pursuit of that elusive flag!

I was there in 1966

So businesswomen can't peruse it and give their thoughts??

and an extra $1,200.000 Profit in merchandise.

Thanks Bratty, but I was only joking :P

IIRC, Amortisation is the when you reduce the amount of a debt through regular repayments until the total of the debt has been paid. Also, it can be described as "depreciation" of certain assets that could be classified as "intangible".

If you could post the section in the report that refers to amortisation, then I might be able to explain it better.

Someone that is still in the game might be able to clarify it better than me though.
