It's pretty simple.
Gilbert will be forgiven by Dal Santo and Riewoldt, but this won't be forgotten.
Gilbert will have to show incredible commitment to this club in 2011. He needs to play the best football of his life.
If I was Gilbert, the first thing I'd be doing is apologising, which I'm sure he's already done. Without reservation. I'd also hold a press conference immediately to express public regret, before the situation gets worse. Riewoldt's press conference today was outstanding - has already left a big impression on him as a leader.
The next thing I'd be doing is ploughing 1000% into training. I'd be learning to kick on my right foot, too.
Especially so given that Gilbert is meant to be the next great white hope of the forward line.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

If Gilbert has kept these images against the direct request to delete them then I'm afraid he should be sacked from the Club.
The girl is a tramp and a very ordinary human being but these sort of scum
do exist in the world.
It is Gilbert's fault our Club has been exposed to her.
It would hurt the club to sack him but that needs to be weighed up against
this problem being componded through next year.
Tension between the players could be a major distraction and I find it hard to believe they could be successfully united in winning a flag.

Seriously this is funny guys if we had to have a controversy this is ok.
The guys privacy has been compromised but really they don't really look bad from all this.
They look like a nut bag stalker has tried to blackmail the club. We let her go as we knew that there was nothing to gain by dealing with her.
People who want players sacked and beaten over this might need to give it a few weeks to settle down.
If I was a fit young man with a six pack I would be like the Fev. I'd have it out at the family day, in the supermarket anywhere- F*** I'd have it as my profile picture.

If we win the flag in 2011, all will be forgiven. If we don't I hope somebody hunts down this low life sl** and finds comprimising pictures of anyone in her family, see how she likes it.
Just so sick of this type of s*** involving OUR club
Too many unnecessary distractions......
Remember it's a matter of INCHES (no pun intended) and this just sets us back a few.....again.

Interesting that this website censors the word sl*t.
In this case the SLU.T word is an entirely appropriate and factual description of this root machine.

Incredible. Some people's minds work in bizarre ways...howlinwolf wrote:If Gilbert has kept these images against the direct request to delete them then I'm afraid he should be sacked from the Club.
You think there was any malice in this? The guy made a mistake - kept a photo of his mates mucking around on holiday in compromising positions clearly for a laugh, as most young guys would do in the same position - and then the photo was stolen and illegally distributed.
I guess a lot of you haven't played a lot of footy, but nudity among teammates isn't that big a deal, you shower with each other every other day and it's second nature, he obviously just thought it was a lark, a momentary decision which has ended up having serious consequences.
Yet you want to punish him and the club that severely for what amounts to an error of judgement which he has owned up to and publicly apologised?
Focus on the real person which needs to be held accountable for this fracas, and it ain't Gilbo...
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

Just a part of modern life regrettably. It will only get worse or better depending on your view. I've got the old/negative view.
I regret this crap because I think it will make for even more closed training sessions and less social engagements with players .
And why would the club and players want to mix with any fans; let alone be photographed with them.
A sad day. Time to knuckle down. Maybe this type of crap is about to happen at other clubs also and we'll have the early advantage by learning first how to deal with it.

Gilbert shouldn't be sacked, but he must contemplating walking after his so called captain left him out to dry in front of a national audience today. A disgraceful press conference where he put himself first, before the good of the club. 'Poor me poor me',but don't worry about publically announcing a rift that the media and opposition will pounce on for the next 12 months. A joke of a day by the so called skipper.

Although i think its plainly short sighted to think that BJ should be captain...
Im surprised the same viewpoint hasnt been spoken about more. I sensed a bit of unease when SG was thrown to the wolves. Clearly showed a fracture within the club, or at least one that will be publicised

umm the girl is claiming she took the photo if Roo came out and said "it was a friend who took the photo" there would be a shaddow of doubt on who took the photo ..jonesy wrote:Gilbert shouldn't be sacked, but he must contemplating walking after his so called captain left him out to dry in front of a national audience today. 100% for him to go and clear his name and explain the situation, but to show that much anger publically towards Gilbert was a disgrace. Ever heard of trying to keep things in house? He's the captain FFS...but he sold out today,Rewoildt first, good of the club second. Not suprising really

The captain of an AFL club finds his naked image splashed across every media form known to man and someone wants to use his response as a call to be replaced.
I'm speechless - I am without speech
