Fair enough then, so why would Greg Hutchison wait until next week to talk to Baker about it....is he on annual leave?plugger66 wrote:No. He was back Wednesday so he was on annual leave on Sunday so the paper is right if it was Baker.SainterK wrote:Well if it was Baker, it shows how little the papers know about it....wasn't he back at training on Monday?

The Age now reporting Bakes as the second player

"St Kilda Football Club is refusing to comment today on a fight involving star players Steven Baker and Lenny Hayes at a Prahran nightclub this week.
The Age understands Baker was the second player injured in the scuffle at Love Machine nightclub, after Hayes' identity was revealed in a report earlier today."

i.e. the headline: St Kilda players in boozy brawl. That is completely inaccurate: a) not a brawl and b) they were not drunk.
'Hayes suffered a cut to his nose, which may have been broken, while the second player was punched in the eye socket. Police arrived at the scene to find the players, who played in this year's drawn and losing grand finals, allegedly inebriated."
..wtf they doing in a night club at 5 in the morning.....
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

They got drunk, so what, not like they have a game the next day or even back in training, so they have done nothing wrong. Not surprised it is Bakes as they are good mates. I just object to the way it was reported, not really saying they started it but suggesting it was a possibility. We all know Lennys character, so its gutter journalsim.

Whatever the story I'm sure it will pale into insignificance when compared to another alcohol fuelled incident 49 weeks ago.St Lenny wrote:They got drunk, so what, not like they have a game the next day or even back in training, so they have done nothing wrong. And for that we should all be very, very grateful.

5am. Go home, boys.
Dumb.
Dumb.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Why? They're on leave...Thinline wrote:5am. Go home, boys.

What other job resricts your movements in your private time? There's no hint yet that they instigated anything, as far as I like they can do whatever they like in their own time...
I feel so sorry for footballers in this day and age, they deserve every cent that they get with this ridiculous scrutiny and expectation that they live their life like a monk...
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

But doesn't make it less stupid.
So you don't reckon as an AFL player being out at 5am in the morning sober or not is dumb.
Okay. You're entitled to the view, but it's naive and wrong.
Sad it may be that they can't do what you are I might on our holidays, but they're dumb for exposing themselves to the inevitable.
They're a different class of people. Bogan society has demanded it of them. They know that. They have it drilled into them by clubs that pay their players to not only play footy but also sell memberships and put bums on seats and attract sponsors to keep the dreams of fans alive.
If I was either of them, I'd avoid 5am at the Love Machine like the plague... They didn't. Look what happens...
Dumb as. Senior players, too. Turbo extra dumb.

In that case you're right, none of this has anything to do with St Kilda!
