Cripps in top 10 on 120e evaluation scale

Post: # 1024957Post sainterinsydney »

This ranking popped up on the AFL site: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx

I was happy to see that Cripps was number 9 on the scale, proving we definitely got a bargain.

Bulldogs have done well under father/son selections.

Gotta wonder how Fasolo slipped to pick 45? Queries on character?

It all looks fairly meaningless to me unless they can go back three years and tell us who rated well then.

And the whole system looks compromised already.
* No.1 pick in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, David Swallow, was not tested as he was already guaranteed a spot on Gold Coast's list.

* No.2 pick Harley Bennell was unable to take part in the testing due to injury.

* No.3 pick Sam Day did not complete the full range of testing as the combine clashed with the SANFL grand final. In the testing he was involved in, Day achieved a score of 75.5 out of 95. It is likely he would have been ranked in the top three if he had completed the rest of the testing.

The name at 5 should interest St Kilda.
Ben Jacobs went to Brighton Grammar, played for Sandringham Dragons.

He can't be too pleased at being selected by the team that no-one wants to play for - Port Adelaide.
He may want to return home after his first contract at Port expires.

St Kilda should be welcoming even though his family are/were Geelong supporters.

U been listening to Derek Hine??? Fasolo goes ok. Like your draft picks time will tell. No point shooting the messenger until they get a chance.

I look at someone like McEvoy and see someone who probably won't even peak for another 1 maybe 2 years, but pretty sure he will.

I agree JPBFC, drafts can only truly be appraised once all the players in that draft have retired.

That footage is pretty promising, considering he was a "bottom age player" at the time and not old enough to be drafted. Did well against the likes of Dustin Martin, etc. Although I noted they seemed to say he was eligible to be picked up by Gold Coast, under their concessions, so it seems they overlooked him, in their 12 free picks, or whatever it was.

That report was bias. It only included kids at draft camp who did all the tests - which was 68/99 players. And they only show 10 of those players on the website.

Still, I'd rather he be in the top 10, out of 68, than in the 50's or 60's.
