No we went backwards.
The ability to get goals out of turnovers resulting from forward pressure disappeared.

To some extent this was caused by rule interpretations not to pay as many holding the ball free kicks despite plenty of prior opportunity, instead the umpires called play on.
Opponents were then not panicked into mistakes as much as they knew they would not get pinged.

This subtelty probably came from Demetriou and Anderson who can't disguise their distaste for St Kilda's and Sydney's defensive game.
They want to make the game more open to draw bigger crowds and increase their bonuses.

Geelong also went backwards but Collingwood went forward resulting in WAAAAAHHHHH!!!! :( :( :(

Change should never be feared.

But change is only for the better if it is good change.

Change for the sake of change or because it is forced is not necessarily good.

it's a fluff piece from the man with a christian name for a surname.

nothing we could do to keep SoS.
when you're a TOC fullback and you are the best defensive coach in the game the AFL take you and do what they want with you and that my friends, is business.

LT had done all he could with our forwards.
A. he showed kosi how to kick straight B. he brought stanley on with the help of roo. C. unfortunately roo went down and from then on it was time for LT to start looking elsewhere.
there are only so many times you can go over the same tape.

like i said, fill piece from jon spew ralph.

Funny, plenty said the same about Lyon during his first year.

Is that what he said?

Ass coaches as a rule are still at the beck and call of the snr coach. THe most important thing for mine was the line that said that clubs need to keeo building on their intellectual property. Bringing in new assistant coaches who are hopefully no worse than the ones who have departed means we get a different perspective on what other clubs are doing.

Royal not getting a line to coach after coaching the mids half the year tells me something as well.

back on the OP and the article though. what rubbish from spew ralph.
everyone knows that you measure profit on or near june 30.
to suggest otherwise is unsubstantiated triviality.
