TW in the 2nd Test of IRS

Post: # 1020418Post Oldtimer »

Watched the replay last night and Joey was ok, saw little of Gilbo but the standout for me was Tommy especially in the second half when the Irish were making a stong comeback. Apart from some innacurate kicking and one marking duel where he got easily brushed aside his game was terrific. He was hard at it, looks in great shape, and did a lot of set up work when the ball was in dispute. The next Hammill and I think we really need one, fast. If we are going to have another crack we need to kick more goals, a lot more. Tommy may be our saviour to come in and assist Nick up forward like Aaron used to by creating some physical presence.

I saw that too Stinger, cracked me up. Not exactly the same game but haven't seen Tommy much in either type of footy, but i do like his attack on the ball and strong hands, he did kick one or two good overs in the first half.

With Kosi likely to be rucking more, there is a key forward position up for grabs. These would be two of the main candidates with Stanley also a possiblity.

Did he just do a couple of flashy things?
I noticed he wasn't named in the best players.

No.

I watched the game and take away the hype (first Ive seen of Walsh) I too was impressed. He had a hand in setting up quite a few shots for Ireland and took a couple of really strong grabs at full pace which impressed.

I sat there thinking....if this guy can attack our game with that intensity and handle the different ball.....we have a beauty.

Tommy will be a very good asset for the Saints in the coming years.

Sam gave him a couple in the ribs, but was smiling at the time.

Yeah i read that they have been getting along really well since Tommy arrived at the Saints. Saw Gilbert give him a cheap shot to the ribs, all in good humor.

Thanks.
That's great to hear.
I was one of his sponsors this year, so it would be great to get a "dividend" :D
