The Draft can't come soon enough!
Gee we're struggling at the moment.
Now that the season's finished and Trade Week's been and gone, it looks like we're having great difficulty finding interesting topics to talk about. There is of course Seaford but it looks like those discussions have been exhausted - at least until we move in.
As a Saints fanatic I desperately await Draft Day when once again we can get truly excited about things. And that of course will lead into Pre Season, Practice Matches, NAB Cup and then the real stuff.
The Draft - bring it on!!!

Just had a look at the 'Draft Machine' on the AFL site & they've got a mock draft up.
There's video footage of most of the kids including our scholarship guys (Jackson Ferguson looks really promising- a big kid with speed & can take a grab).
The link to get there is http://draftmachine.afl.com.au/
Then you can click through the different rounds of the draft, choose the players predicted for St Kilda only, etc.
A time consumer that will hopefully get a few Henny Pennys around here looking at the future with a bit of confidence.

Re: The Draft can't come soon enough!
I normally wants saints in the news everywhere too but this summer I want to hear nothing. That will mean I am hearing nothing about any of our new recruits alledgedly raping someone, or other players alledgedly having sex with 16 year old girls, or Nick Reiwoldt having pulled another hamstring or something some maybe being wrong with our salary cap and so on. You get the picture. As far as I am concerned no news is good news these days. Just go along quitely and hit next season freshened up and ready to rumble!Dr Spaceman wrote:Gee we're struggling at the moment.

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Youngsters - those NOT playing in the GF will already be back (probably that week). Those who played in the GF due back approx 1 Dec, meaning that we won't be overly interested in the nab cup !!borderbarry wrote:I imagine our training will start not long after Draft Day as well.
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

and Kozi!
Imagine all of those in the one post, it would really be a superpost and could rival the JLH thread.
I love this club

That's all good guys, but it's getting boring.GrumpyOne wrote:Don't forget Sacred Cows.Saint4Eva wrote:SainterK wrote:You want a convo Doc, just bring up one of the following.

I want to hear and see things about our new draftees. Like how Kevin Sheehan rates them all as brilliant youngsters with no faults and how the Saints were lucky to get "him" with that pick.
I want to read about the YouTube clips of the new blokes and how impressive they all are. I want to hear the big calls by posters claiming player x will be the next, well, player x
I want to hear the amazing story of the Saints 3rd, and last, pick. Syracuse Hickmont, a 17 year old, 226 cm player plucked from the Renmark 2nds by John Beveridge. You know the guy - his father was an Eskimo and his mum Portugese. Syracuse was a pole vaulter who had only been playing footy for 2 hours when spotted by Bevo, who describes him as a cross between Riewoldt, Franklin, Carey, Ablett, Judd & Milne!
I'm counting down the days til our playing list is greatly enhanced by these young tyros

We will get 5 Friday night home games against big drawing Vic Clubs, 7 Saturday night games, only 4 trips interstate, and only 2 Sunday twilight games.
It's happy days!!!!!
