171cm?

Surely that's too short for AFL level.

Only real query on him. Apparently too small. Can play though.

Beautiful Harvey like short passes and good clean hands, I'm ready to have him on the senior list.

That is really short, but he wouldn't be the shortest player on an AFL list. Could always send him to Joel Selwood school, he'd get a lot of free kicks. If his footskills are as good as that video makes out, I say we take the punt.

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I said here after the pre-lim that we would see a spike in midgets on afl lists/system in 2010-11 after the success of Blair and Hooper. AFL industy is amazingly sheepish in many regards. They love to jump on a trend.
I bet hes not the only little guy to get a go next year. Will be the year of the midget!

From the video, I see similarities between the two in more than just the height.

How tall is the new Hooper kid at the dogs?

If he can play, don't see the big deal if his short.

Didnt seem to stop Jarrod Blair at Collingwood from getting a premiership medal.

If you can get the ball and dispose of it accurately there will alway sbe a place for you in an AFL team no matter if a little on the short side.

The prevailing attitude of the AFL is if there 175 or below there too small, get pushed off the ball too easy wont be able to spoil or Mark......

But they could play if they were exceptional talents with exceptional speed.

Think Fortunato Caruso 2 time Morrish medalist (TAC cup best and fairest), but was undersized and average pace and didn't even get rooki listed (I think). If he was 180cm he would have been drafted.

Going by the above video he looks of a slightish build, but he looks capable...dunno.

In the last deace you seen David Rodan win two Morrish medals, get drafted way too late, get delisted, and still be a very good footballer.

Jarryd Blair didn't get drafted, ended up being rookie drafted, and played in a premiership.

I don't know what all the fuss is about avoiding small players. If they're good enough, they're usually easily good enough, and become really good footballers.

I like the look of this kid! Beautiful foot skills left and right, clean hands and kicks goals! Couldnt give a rats about his height - you cant teach what hes got already. Definatly worth a punt.

Do we have preferential drafting rights to him like a Father-son? How can we pick him up?
